I aint ever experienced a BB forum like this one, where is all the diversity? Everyone just agrees with eachother or "agrees to disagree" is that what BB is to the majority on here! A tv programme that doesn't highlight differences in society or talking points for fans to discuss and argue about.

This forum is a bit like gods waiting room, you can see all the users on line yet nobody posts, are you all half dead?Or just nosey? What can I do to liven it up? I hate seeing BB forums die a slow death, it upsets me and saddens my inner soul.

It is more like a cult, or a pub on the yorkshire moors where people seem very wary of newcommers, I have even been asked outright in a pm if I am a real person, what the heck. I have hands I can type, so yeah, I guess I am real enough, to me anyway!

I have tried posting a few threads but no-one seems interested in anything other than who can get the first post on a new page or who can post the most smileys.

Maybe it was better during BB itself but going by the threads made during it, it doesn't seem that way.Perhaps the people in charge should delete the BB part of the forums name because It's how I found the place, and to me anyway, it has nothing whatsoever to do with BB and all it is is a laughing stock.

I'll give you all a week, buck your ideas up or I'm off.

That's up to you, but there's no reason that we should change the way we are to suit you.  And we certainly don't need YOU to 'liven up the forum' thank you.  We mostly get on well here and 'agree to disagree' because there is no point in arguing until we're blue in the face, when we have different views and opinions.  It's called being polite and meeting halfway.

If you want arguments and spats, maybe you should try a different forum.  Funnily enough, the last few 'newbies' on here seemed to complain that we don't accept newbies very well (supposedly.)  It's like a broken record: every newbie (or supposed newbie) that comes here moans that we are so unfriendly and cold towards newbies, that we're actually sick of hearing it now...

I could have bet a grand that you were going to come out with this 'you're so unwelcoming to newbies' comment, and I would bet many here would say the same... Everyone gets on well here, and we have a lot of fun, and if you don't like the way we roll, then that's your problem...  You know where the door is...

Why do you always say "we" when you are making a point?

Is that because as a newbie I don't get to be part of the forum on a whole?

All I can do is say it how I see it. Sorry but I guess I'll just stick around a while and moan about not fitting in some more or until I get bored and move on, but it will be because I want to move on, not because you have ranted that I should move on.

quick edit..I also wished you had bet a grand that I would have come out wih the "you're so unwelcoming to necommers" comment. I'd be a grand richer.

It doesn't appear to me anyway that BB being on mad much difference,

Don't think you was here for most of it was you? i'd say nearly every thread was BB related, as for being a newbie and not being allowed to fit it, when i joined i was made to feel very welcome and treated well, i guess we all see thing's differently though

Or not as the case may be.

Some FMs have had bad experiences in the past. I'm not defending accusations of new FMs being a spambot or whatever (which sounds rather unfriendly to me), but it has made some FMs a little "defensive"; which is a shame seeing as one of the most common comments on this forum is "Wouldn't it be nice to have more members?"

I agree there was a lot more "uninimity of thought" during this year's BB, but I do honestly think that the exception rather than the rule. There are a lot of lurkers out there, and I do feel that it only need a few FMs to come out with differing opinions for a lot of them to put their heads above the parapets. (Hint, hint...  )

Most of the FMs here are refugees from the old C4 BB site. Over there, there was a tendency for the main BB and off-topic forums to be effectively merged "out of season". That tendency was inherited over here, but because of the smaller FM-base there's always tended to be a lot of O/T discussion in season too...

It's like bloody groundhog day here!

Come off it 'stain,' you have come on here claiming to be a 'newbie,' and in your first week after joining, you start a thread, slagging everyone off on here, and saying 'it's like a cult on here,' asking us if we're half dead, and how we are so unfriendly to 'newbies.'  And you expect friendly responses?  And act all shocked and hurt when people are remotely hostile?!

My post up there ^^^  had nothing in it that wasn't true or called for.   There was no 'untruths' or 'assumptions' in my post; it was merely just defending the posters here and saying that you don't have to stay here if you don't like it.  A fact.  Your original post in this thread is slating the forum and its people, so why stay if it's so bad?

I'm posting nothing else on this thread.  You just carry on slating us and acting the victim when we fight back and defend ourselves.  Be seeing ya!

Correct.

What I am saying is that it feels, to me anyway, like a forum that has infact very little to do with Big Brother but  more to do with friendships. So therefore people who join, like me thinking they can get a debate or three about big brother have infact been led up a garden path a little.

It is no big deal really, i'll just say my piece and move on when I've had enough and leave you all to your friendships.

I think a large part of it has to do with an actual loss of interest to Big Brother.  The move to channel 5 didn't bode well with some, especially me, it was too different, no live feed, no buzz.  So apart from the 'Official Big Brother thread', there wasn't a real need to create anymore threads about it.

We've all become pretty close on here, I'm sure everyone has a memory of certain forumers and they 'distinct posts'.  I'm always going to be remembered for my gold tie debacle (which we won't go into ).  And I'm going to feel close to a large number of people, on here, with the support they gave me when my mum sadly passed away last year, at 54.  And the support they give me for my filmmaking.

You're gonna come across people on here that you don't get on with, or take what you say the wrong way, but thats life in general.  I'm sure you'll find yourself getting involved in more discussions the longer you hang around.

Ok, you may or may not reply that is up to you but I do need to defend myself when you say I have "slagged everyone off" Or that I said you were all unfriendly to newbies,.

I said you all seem wary of newbies and used the pm I recieved as a reason for my thinking of this.

To me you seem to be the only one being a little unfriendly about the whole matter, heck you won't even discuss the matter in a jovial; friendly way like people should do.

Perhaps it has taken me a week to realise my views and air them to ask in a civilised manner why it is like this!

I wish you would come back and discuss it like an adult instead of running away refusng to address the matter with me.

I agree

Well, I dunno...

Firstly, it won't be long till the new series of CBB. (For example, I noticed a recent twitter exchange Aaron had with Jamie East which suggests he'll be involved in some of the spinoff shows...)

Secondly, some of the follow-up articles, interviews, etc dealing with HMs after the series can be interesting. E.g. we sometimes get insights into things that weren't properly shown in HLs (a particular problem this series...  ) I do know that some FMs are interested in what the HMs get up to post-show, but are often uneasy about posting here because of the forum's O/T feel "out of season", which seems a shame to me..,

None, most BB forums don't allow that, does this one? If it does it seriously needs to reconsider that because in my experience it leads to nothing but trouble. I discovered this forum after doing a search about Aaron on google. I popped in and registered thinking it would take 5 minutes. Heck I think it was about 4 days later that I noticed I could log in to post. I posted about Aaron not sharing the money with Jay as I do on most forums because I think it is vitaly important that our BB winner is not a turncoat.

You should still post things about BB even out of season as it is a BB forum after all
