I don't think it is clear cut in either of the two ways you outline Jonesy. It seems to me that unless someone purposefully causes trouble this forum trundles along quite amicably.

Indeed.

Although we all originally joined C4 because we watched Big Brother, I'm sure a number of people here have lost interest in BB over the years, and probably won't be watching the new series - I found the last three series of BB completely unwatchable with the revolting housemates who were chosen, and I haven't got the slightest interest in watching it in the future.  I think this forum is a Big Brother forum in name only now, and i really hope that there isn't a big influx of new members when the next series starts.

Although it'd be nice to see a few more ..........................I'm with you there - the rapid pace of the BB forum during BB was hard to keep up with. A few more would be nice but I'm not sure I'd want to return to the utter madness!

Madness seems to attract loads of old members back-  look at the thread that was pulled and the follow up thread that Lori started? Seems like they love a bit of action Maybe the wrong type of action but it certainly brought some names out of the woodwork i have never heard of. What does this say to you?-Members like a ruck? Seems that way to me. This is no way for the members to keep a Forum running. Every night i come here there are as many members as guests?????Are they just hanging there waiting to jump in on a fracas or are they too scared to come in and post?

Maybe some of them just forget to close the window after a visit ? I do that loads !

i don't post in the Lounge because whenever i have looked in there, the number of posts has been comparatively small compared with this forum.  There are very few threads on here nowadays about Big Brother, so perhaps you might like to suggest that a large proportion of the other members of this forum should also post in the Lounge ?    I have posted under this ID with many of the people who are now on this forum for 6 or 7 years now, and am not in contact with most of them anywhere else.  Most people aren't obsessed with Big Brother any more, and I think this new series will be a huge flop.

It would not be my intention to make any genuinely new poster feel uncomfortable on this or any other forum.  I am happy to post with anyone who is honest and open about previous identities they have used

No it is your opinion of events - not necessarily the truth.

I will agree that there are 3 or 4 fms who only seem to be here when there is a ruck but there are plenty more fms who go way back to C4 and tend to lurk more than post. Your post seems to be tarring them all with the same brush.

Yes you got a raw deal the other night - actually it started with poor Hyper getting the raw deal and moved on to you and plenty of people have expressed their sympathy for you over that.

I think there are a few who like to jump in ..........................I think they appear to be new members but have an awful lot of knowledge about this place and fm's .....................there is no doubt that when there is controversy on here - the jungle drums beat somewhere. Your guess is as good as mine as to why they don't stick around.

Exactly. Look back at the number of FMs in those threads that i had never heard of. Seems like they hang around until the " S**t hits the fan then jump in. They can think what they like about me but i am here to stay as i want to see the FMs favorite HMs

Not how i have seen it. I have taken notes on the FMs who seem to have a problem with me and will respond per-say.

Yes, I can imagine that you have taken copious notes!  As I said, I have no problem posting with anyone who does not try to deceive people about their previous identities.

I read the thread in question (and as your notes will no doubt show) did not contribute to it. However, I don't recall seeing any FMs posting in the two threads in question that I had never heard of before.  A couple of people might not have been regular posters any more, and possibly only reappeared because the thread was controversial, but i didn't see any new FMs.

I post here, in games and i used to post in the lounge on a regular basis although not so much now as  many fm's have left - for whatever reason, i know some post on facebook but i keep that for real life (yes, i do have one!) i prefer the anonymity of gaga, i'm sorry but i don't want to know you that well, i prefer to keep you at arms length - although i do ask for opinions/advice and will offer some if asked/needed.  gaga is ok as it is, i don't miss the twirly stars or posts count  as it could feel intimidating to newbies or those like me who often lurk without posting

I think YOUR idea of "reasonable" and mine might be different.
