I think people just move on Zazz..... sometimes RL takes over....

I keep in touch with loads of peeps on FB who used to post on C4 and/or here.  Some of them spend their online time mainly on FB now, even the ones who still watch BB prefer to talk about it in their status's I think.

All the nastiness when people were let off the leash here in the beginning didn't help, I know lots and lots of fms who say they wouldn't come back here because of it.

I prefer chatting on a forum, I find it almost impossible to keep up with where I've posted if I try to chat on FB so I stick to the games there and very rarely go to my profile or home page

I'd sooner think it's churn of members.  The C4 forums had the advantage that if you wanted to read about BB or swap opinions, one of your first ports of call would be the channel four site due to the obvious association with the program and articles etc.  This forum can't have that association, so as old members 'retire' for whatever reasons, potential new members don't naturally seek out this forum.  Didn't someone post recently that this forum comes in at page 4 on a Google search for BB?  How many of us typically go onto links on the fourth page of Google results?  Not many, I'd guess.

I didn't see this first time around...you are right, I never go past the first two pages

I think when Ch 4closed there were a few options put about - some went one way others came here - I think there are probably lots that wou;ld like to return but the name of this forum is a trifle 'obscure' and not easily identified with BB. Saying that ............in the last few years of Ch4 FB had already taken off (as someone already said) - I think lots choose that way of keeping in touch.

I'll put my hands up and say that I found it really uncomfortable on here at first ............it seemed huge and I honestly felt that people were whispering in corners. Now ...........it's like a second home. There are ups and downs and often someone who wants to take a dig here and there but that's forum life. Not everyone will get on with everyone just like in real life.

Don't think there's much that I'd change TBH.

I'm relieved I'm not the only one who felt that way ............perhaps I was too vociferous in the early days (it's as I am). i feel some still hold it against me.

No, even though I was very grateful to them for giving us somewhere to *live*,  I felt exactly the same at the start Soozy...... I think quite a few of us did......and I am sure no one holds it against you

I think YOU should tell Lori

I see there are "New Members " on the home page and also wonder why they don't post? Maybe a "Welcome " thread is needed so they can find somewhere to post without getting involved in threads where their FM name comes under suspicion.

Oh- and what has happened to the Forum, i see it has been changed- what is new apart from the visuals?

Jonesy

I don't think I'd really want to change much.  One of the things that I like about this forum is that it isn't as huge as the C4 forums, and the membership is very stable, which means we all get to know each other over time.  i really don't see the need for new members.

Although we all originally joined C4 because we watched Big Brother, I'm sure a number of people here have lost interest in BB over the years, and probably won't be watching the new series - I found the last three series of BB completely unwatchable with the revolting housemates who were chosen, and I haven't got the slightest interest in watching it in the future.  I think this forum is a Big Brother forum in name only now, and i really hope that there isn't a big influx of new members when the next series starts.

If that's your view then why not post in the Lounge instead of in the BB UK Thread? And as for not wanting new members this place deserves new members and i hope they come and stay here, but reading your past posts on me in the past posts i doubt any would feel at home here

Although it'd be nice to see a few more ..........................I'm with you there - the rapid pace of the BB forum during BB was hard to keep up with. A few more would be nice but I'm not sure I'd want to return to the utter madness!

Madness seems to attract loads of old members back-  look at the thread that was pulled and the follow up thread that Lori started? Seems like they love a bit of action Maybe the wrong type of action but it certainly brought some names out of the woodwork i have never heard of. What does this say to you?-Members like a ruck? Seems that way to me. This is no way for the members to keep a Forum running. Every night i come here there are as many members as guests?????Are they just hanging there waiting to jump in on a fracas or are they too scared to come in and post?

I think there are a few who like to jump in ..........................I think they appear to be new members but have an awful lot of knowledge about this place and fm's .....................there is no doubt that when there is controversy on here - the jungle drums beat somewhere. Your guess is as good as mine as to why they don't stick around.
