Although it is quite a violent film, it is not a horror film. This is a very different type of film to his Evil Dead films (and obviously different from his Spiderman films). Some have compared this to the Coen brothers film Fargo, but I preferred A Simple Plan. This is one of the tiny number of films which when I first saw it on television, I went out the following day and bought the DVD.
