I loved the way Nick lept into defend Lewis's in Liverpool, when Kate looked down her nose at it. TBH it is a bit down market compared to London Department stores but it has served Liverpool and Manchester very well for as long as I can remember.
When the IRA blew up Manchster city centre, M & S were homeless and Lewis's did a deal whereby they let 2 floors of their store to M & S, not just for the money but because they realised that the quickest way to get Manchester back to some order and restore confidence in the city was to get M & S back on the high street there as quick as possible.![]()
