yes it is, hes fought against disclosure right from the start and to make matters worse the speaker is supposed to be "party neutral" whilst they are in the job but this guy certainly hasnt. i heeard on the radio this morning some mp defending him and saying that he was being attacked because of his working class background in sheffield but i dont remember the same being said about the last two speakers one from a yorkshire mill town the other from wales (back when wales had mines).

As far as I'm concerned it's overdue and after his latest utterings, I don't think he has any right to keep his job.

the cheeky scrouger should have gone a long time ago

Yes, I agree and the attack today on two MPs who felt he was out of order to call for a police investigation rather than an investigation into MP's misappropriating money is pretty outrages.

it all amounts to covering their own backs-its a shame a country i came to and was proud to be a part of is no better than some of these third world countries
the only difference is, we're not poverty stricken
but the government is still on the make-fleecing the people and i spelt scroungers wrong

How right you are, how many times have heard how Mugabe and CO live a life of luxury while his people live below poverty line. People are losing their homes and their jobs yet the speaker is more concern about catching the mole, whom in my opinion should get a knighthood.

The man is an incompetent twerp and should have been given the order of the boot ages ago. When you consider he follows in the footsteps of Lord Tonypandy and Betty Bothroyd, both fine Speakers, it makes you cringe.

agreed, wasn't it him who instigated the police raid on some mp's office for no good reason?

Yes, but he let somebody else take the fall for that.

I cannot wait for the next issue of Private Eye. They love ripping the Speaker apart.

Nod ... or anyone. Laugh
Have you ever noticed that no-one takes up on their stories about how much tax newspaper owners pay?

They take particular delight in taking the piss out of Richard Desmond (Express newspaper and porn channel owner)
