Both have fab bikes... that are sitting in the shed with cobwebs all over them.

For us the problem is it just isn't safe where I live. Even on the road where our house is, cars and buses zoom along. And the next road is a really busy, dangerous A road.

Hubby used to take them out on bike rides, but since we got the dog that happens less, cos would mean the dog didn't get to come out.

Lol shes as passionate as you too then lol. I do understand how hard it is to teach someone to ride a bike, I was put on a hill mind and given a push lol. I still remembering thinking what happens when i ran out of park.

You've got a point there. My friend has three children and apart from their garden there is nowhere for them to play out near where they live as there are houses either side of them. There are fewer green areas for kids to find. And if they are anywhere near a house you'll be sure that the Council will place a 'no ball games' sign up somewhere. It's a shame for my mate, but it does mean she comes to visit us more often

I live in a flat, but as I've said we have a small play park and field right outside and it's quite normal for us to take up residence there during the summer months. Quite often after I finish work we just go over to the play park, Connor has loads of mates there now and they play tag, hide and seek, races, football - anything really. If I'm flush I'll treat them to a bag of chips or an ice cream when the van comes round.

I'd love to think that he'll look back and think he had a happy childhood. I remember playing out for most of my early years. The smallest of things can become big adventures can't they!

I know what others are saying about the streets not being safe but kids have to go out eventually don't they. I think it's a case of releasing them slowly into the wild LOL.

To me Towno it sounds like you are giving your kids AND their mates great memorys. Sounds great to me you all out their just carrying on the field like it should be. They are all learning about socialising, sharing and getting on together which i think can only do them good in the future too. Yeah there does seem to be a lot of no ball signs about. I used to like playing with any size ball available to me, no smutt meant.
