I stopped watching DOI after the Chris Fountain injustice!!

I am STILL sulking that he didn't win it!  

He finished shipwrecked in December 2001, met Jade around October 2002 and most of his shows came in 2004..so I thought....His dad was the captain of the Marchiness that sank on the Thames and killed him....

He was robbed!!

He was!!

I was soooo angry!

I loved that years DOI (apart from Chris not winning)     haven't been able to get into it since.


Its probably my fault he didn't win...   I am the kiss of death with any of these things..  If they are my fave.. they are guaranteed not to win!

omg... I didn't know that!!!

A couple who I vaguely knew (friends of friends... same social circles) died in that too!

The word hero is overused nowadays but IMO, Johnson deserves to be called a hero.

So sad to think 131 people could die on a river in England....

Middle son won't let me stay in the living room when he's watching his football team on the TV - he says I'm a jinx.

I thought it was less than that  ...  but yeah Stonks...  I remember it well.   It was so shocking.   There had been a trend for these parties on the Thames for a while,  loads of my friends had been on one the previous week and were all raving about how good it was.

Then we saw the news, it wasn't til the following week that I found out a couple from my town were killed.

I always feel dead sorry for Jonathan Phang from BNTM...   saw a programme once on how badly it affected him

It must have been terrible for Jeffs mum having to bring 2 sons up on her own and Jeffs brother was 4 at the time with Cerebal Palsey....

I had no idea about his dad. So sad!

I get sent out at crutial times as his team *supposedly* scores when I leave the room....

He's done well for himself Blizz even with the rough patches in his life, alot of people would just sit at home and moan....

I've always had a quiet respect for Jeff Brazier...    I had no idea about this other stuff

He seems a very private person....

I've banned myself since getting told off by the youngest for shouting at the telly....

Jeff did a programme about his brother in BBC3 the other week, he was trying to get him to have a life without being dependant on his mum all the time, the brother was having none of and ended up punching Jeff in the face, he thought Jeff was pushing his nose in and he was quite happy living his life the way he was, i must say i agreed with, i don't mind Jeff but he does seem abit too cocky for me

Considering the "celebrity" status of some of them I see no harm having Johnson on the show. I was a bit wary though and for his first dance I felt so uncomfortable watching. Only because I soooooo want him to do well and was afraid he'd mess up....but he didn't 

Before DOI started i knew who Johnson Beharry was and what he'd done...I still don't know who Comedy Dave is or that kids tv woman and i only know of Chloe Maddely though hearing her parents talk about her and seeing in the papers about her getting done for drink driving.

Thinking about this again I suppose the buggest question has to be "what is a celebrity"?  A few years ago that related to someone who had done something or achieved something in the public eye however today it seems you can be famous for being famous.  I think this may be what bugs me - is it right to associate someone like him with the now trashy celebrity world.

Is that the Dave who does the voiceover for Coach Trip, or am i wrong ? Never heard of him to be honest....

No Croc, i know Dave Lamb, he is a legend  I thought that Comedy Dave person did Coach Trip? Maybe not, i always get people,s names wrong

Is celebrity - someone who is celebrated? TBH .................I suppose it's anyone in the puiblic eye. Personally I don't really care who is on the ice -  I just enjoy watching people making progress and getting better and better - I hope he does well.
