Is it possible to have 'flu for only one day?

OH had a ticket to see Elton John at Sheffield Arena tonight, and when he got to the venue, he was given a flyer saying that the show was cancelled due to Elton being visited by the doctor this afternoon and telling him he had to rest due to having flu.
However, the gig at Newcastle(?) tomorrow will be unaffected. WTF? Surely if he has to rest, he won't be able to perform tomorrow either?
To say hubby was peeved would be an understatement. It is over 100 mile round trip from here and petrol these days isn't cheap.
He was back home by 8.

Sounds like Bullshine to me - if you have flu (real flu) it lasts at least up to a week

I've had flu twice this year

Each time I was laid up in bed for a week and another week to get over it properly. I am just recovering from my second bout.

Man flu means at least a week in bed being waited on hand and foot right?

Isn't it funny too how men are the only ones who could eat or drink when it's really bad? My OH can "manage a cup of tea" or "manage a roast dinner" when he's got it....so long as it's brought to him in bed on a tray.

you can in fact have flu but not show any signs of it! you might just feel run down or have a slight cough for several days and then show full blown symptoms for no more than 24 to 48 hours , it depends on you metabolism and immune system.

Absolutely - we still have to "manage" to keep the house running and everybody fed when we are ill, but anything other than "managing" to be waited on while lounging in bed is all they can "manage"

Dunno but I remember the day before my driving test many moons ago, I thought I was going to die with what felt like a serious case of the flu!?

When I woke up on test day I felt as right as rain?

It's happened after that on occasion too, hot, cold, achy, shaky etc etc...in the morning gone!!....weirdo me!

I dunno really. I slept for nearly 12 hours yesterday. I was like Princess and the Pea! Woke up feeling very crap and proper cold symptoms, but they wore off, and then came back, and wore off, and now back again.This evening I could have stretched to a concert I was going to make a lot of money out of if I had to though.

No. Loads of people claim thery have flu, when it's just a cold. Real flu puts you in bed for about a week or so.
