Sorry I can't help. You called me Mantalist and it made me giggle In my head I can see a Manta Ray with my face on it.
Have you tried the benefits and work site. You can pay to join, but they give some free basic advice and tips.

I know a little about ESA, what is the problem?
I used to be a benefits advisor for Age Concern but it's been a while and I'm not sure how much has changed. I'll help if I can though.

its for my daughter who has cerebal palsy. We put in a claim on friday....got a sick note today. Th doctor has backdated the sick note to july 08 due to her disability so I was wondering can she claim Incapaity benefit as her unfit for work period started before oct 08 when the esa rules started

Here's your answer
quote:
A claim to Employment and Support Allowance can be backdated 3 months if there is supporting medical evidence. The Secretary of State will treat the claim as a claim for Incapacity Benefit or Income Support, as appropriate, if:
1. the backdating period spans 27 October 2008 and
2. the claim has been made on grounds of disability.
In these circumstances the existing backdating rules will apply.

From the DWP website.
ESA is turning into a right pain in the arse. I am an employment support officer helping people with learning disabilities into work, and this is right bloody nightmare.

everyone I spoke to today has said the same
And it is also very frightening for disabled people. I'm all for disabled people working and earning when they are able to, but for some people it is simply not an option, and this is only stressing them out.
