Something KaffyBaffy just said 'I can't figure Andrew out..   Is he taking the p*ss, or is he deluded, or is he nasty.'

Actually, I think he's quite nasty. When he nommed Corin and gave his reason as her being shallow I had a mental double take. Excuse me but are we in this world only to show respect and appreciation for deep intellectuals? I think Corin's a lovely girl and I'd much rather be in her company than his. He was quite snidey on HL's tonight too. He's getting way too cocky and his young innocent persona is no longer fooling me. I've decided I just don't like him.

When he first came in I thought..  quiet lad, probably picked on for being a geek and was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.   Then.. he made the cringe comment at the dining table about 'dividing' Caoihme's legs, then another yucky comment about 'gravy'  - both of which just made him sound stupid.

Since then, I feel he's gained a wee of confidence and I just get this feeling that all the years of being picked on (assuming he was) are just bubbling away there waitng to be released.   He's making more snidey comments and getting kinda cocky.

I still can't work out if he was taking the mickey when he was talking about long distance relationships and telling Josie he and her were probably better suited than her and JJ.   In your dreams, boy.

Possibly.

But in my time, I've found quite a lot of the times that geeky kids who got picked on have sometimes grown up into bitter, twisted people who will s**t on you to make themselves feel better like that they aren't the victim anymore. Not always the case, but I've known a few who've turned out like that.
That's the impression I kind of get with Andrew. Will appear all nicey nice, but would probably resent people who he thinks will have been more popular than him in their school days and would possibly s**t on them to make himself feel better, even if he didn't know the person in his childhood when he got picked on.

No what?....

Stonks he was sitting on the sofa with fat Dave in the middle (arm draped around his shoulder as per usual) and JJ on the other side. Dave was slagging Ben off (as per usual also) and he mentioned something about Corin and young Andrew rolled his eyes to heaven and was generally dismissive. Now I could be wrong(frequently) but I took it that this was what he was doing. I'm beginning to see a real snidey side to him and I had such high hopes.

there's a definite air of an explosion waiting to happen there.
Totally agree.

Tbh I think John-James will be the one to be stabbed in the back by Andrew. I think JJ is exactly the type of person who Andrew would show resentment towards (even though JJ said he was unpopular at school). I've already seen a few signs on him snapping at JJ. I think he will big time any time soon.

A very clever lad quite obviously but with zero personality ...........we all see that throughout our lives don't we? I'm sure BB thought that they could take a 'green' young lasd into the house and watch him bossom just like they did with Glynn.

I don't think it's gonna happen TBH.............he's an intellectual snob and so narrow minded that he really isn't gonna embrace the BB experience IMO. a total waste of a HM ..........I don't dislike him enough to want him out immediately and I'm sure others feel the same. therefore ..........I think we're stuck with the boring little nerd until the end.

In which case Andrew to win.

In a hear the accent, ignore the content kind of way - is that what you mean?
Dismissive because she uses slang and isn't cynical...that kind of thing?

I think he feels superior based on his academic qualifications -  which as we all know count for diddly-squat in ordinary social situations (chillin' out etc).

I just went around the houses trying to explain it
Not at all, Fairfax.  I was just trying to clarify as I hadn't seen the actual event but it sort of gave me a lightbulb moment.  Things started to fall into place.

Of course, we'd have much more idea (esp. those of us who don't watch LF) if the camera's weren't fixed on the fauxmantic bores all the time.

I think he is yet to learn that and so ........he will go on feeling superior. The sad thing is - if he'd have embraced the BB experience without going snotty on people he may well have improved the social skills which he so obviously lacks (it wouldn't have intefered with his 'cleverness'.He's never gonna do that because he's an intellectual snob. Don't like him.
