I'm cancelling it as it failed to stop viruses and Windows to become corrupted.

So Norton, Kapersky etc . . . advice would be appreciated

One thing to remember is an anti virus will only block potential viruses if it knows about them. So if you get a virus before the anti virus companies have got a copy of it and developed a virus signature then no AV will help you.

Although this quote from their website might make you dismiss them immediately, don't, as I say I use it and my employer pays them to use their products.

What it will do is protect you while you decide if you want to research AV and security at your leesure...

I'm a little worried about free stuff cos it will run alongside anything I purchase. I want a company I can call if anything goes wrong so have to stick to a brand, I think.

It's not wise to run multiple similar security programmes as I have found they clash with each other.

I have never found any reason to call Sophos as it just works. Sophos have been around ages and although not know as much as Norton they are a big brand in the industry.

I run it on my computer without issue.

As I say, you could install the free version while you decide which way you wanna go.
