I heard this on Aled Jones' radio show on Radio 2 Good Morning Sunday this morning. I found it interesting and I thought you might too. I am remembering it as well as I can, everyone must make up their own mind about it.
A soldier's life has been saved in Helmand Province Afghanistan by his rosary! He felt a gentle brush at his neck and looked down to see that his rosary had broken and fallen off. Then he saw a glint of metal between his feet, it was an IED (improvised explosive device). He carefully brushed away the sand with the brush he uses to clean his gun and exposed the device. If his rosary hadn't fallen off he wouldn't have spotted it. And that same set of rosary beads his great grandfather had found in World War I. As his great grandfather bent down to pick up the rosary beads there was an explosion that killed 6 of his comrades.
