Need new curtains for my lounge - at the mo it's completely neutral so the worlds my oyster really. Want bright and colourful - preferably not flowers but nothing too geometric either. For two big windows (one bay and french doors).
Post some pics please if you've any great ideas.

Cheers Frodo ........some nice ones there but I want really bright and bold I think. They are gonna be the 'feature' - I sort of know what I want but can't find anything. Something quite rustic.

I'm being picky aren't I? The walls are all Egyptian Cotton (off white) - the carpet is oatmeal (neutralish) - the suite brown leather.
if it helps I think I'm going for a very big LS Lowrie print on one wall ..so ................................I just don't know.

That site alone carries a huge stock, so take your time. I'm the same at the moment, paint samples daubed everywhere, carpet samples etc. It's frustrating when you can see the picture in your head but can't quite match it. Be patient you will get there.

Soozy you are far from being irritating ..I decorated just before Christmas
the room was dark drab so creams etc was all I wanted the doors are stained just pale coloured every thing was drab .I have a massive leather unit very dark brown ,but my curtains were pale cream ...so the walls cream the floor Is antique oak and the man who did It made It look like old floorboards but It looked insipid a friend bought my this massive vase with huge artificial flowers not expensive pinky purple and cream
by the way I do not think expensive matters do you soozy ? love this thread xx

Ooh Squiggle didn't realise you were directing to a whole site. Just looked through - I have ordered 7 samples . Not 100% on any of them but you never know till you see it in the flesh. I'll keep you posted.

Maybe not the right colour for you but I like the style. I only like ring top curtains (hate tape top etc) and never hang them straight like that ^. I have them meet in the middle at the top and drape them and keep them in place with metal tie backs that are screwed to the wall. I think they look much better like that particularly if they are never going to be closed (which mine aren't).

With that colour scheme try something with a deep burgundy/warm reds.. .I have browns and creams like you and my feature colour is burgundy for curtains and cushions. .works well..

I know you said nothing floral but looking for rich coloured fabric I found this. I thought the cream coloured buds would complement your neutral tones.
I suppose you need to take into consideration whether you have a bright sunny room and/or if you need something that won't block out the light?
Or, are you going for a more cosy effect?
I'm the last person to ask for advice: I'm either faffing with trying to brighten a north facing room or struggling to get a mellow feel to a south facing room that gets full on sun from sunrise to sunset.
It's all a bit of a headache all round really.

Xochi .........I do rather like that. Might try to track it down but it says 2009.
Cosi .............it's a dual aspect room but not particularly bright - never really get direct sun which is why I've gone for whitish walls. It's just that I do like to pull the curtains on an evening and have a warm effect - TBH - We decorated a couple of years ago and I got rid of some curtains that would be absolutely perfect - I'd happily have them again. I think I have to get the image out of my mind because I'm sure I'd never be able to find anything like them again - they were very unusual.
Soozy, I'm a bit minimalist when it comes to window dressings. Have you thought of made to measure roman blinds for the bay with coordinating perfect fit blinds for the French doors?
