No, I think it was all still up in the air .....no one was wearing them while I was in hospital ....and I didn’t come out until 2 days before lockdown

yes and even after lock down it was  a bit before I wore one  in the supermarket and I was in the minority

Mr Y “had a word” with a guy in Tesco today who had his mask under his chin. TBF, he said he’d just forgotten to pull it up as he entered the shop.
