On the bright side, if Mr Spongey doesn't behave you can always find a use for the liquid laxative

I have...

One of my cats (now passed away, bless him) became quite ill when he was old, and couldn't look after himself properly. We found maggots in his bottom... Sick

Fly strike it's called,it can be common in rabbits and pets that soil themselves, especially if they are outdoors in hutches, you have to keep their hindquarters clean.

Now the better weather is here I'm up like shot with the flyspray if I see them in the house,my rabbits are house rabbits.

If you're careless with the hygeine.Rabbits do two kinds of poops, the usual little hard pellets, then usually at night a softer feaces, that they sometimes partly re-ingest,all part of their digestive sytem. The soft stuff is what they can sit on and gets stuck in the fur.You usually smell it the next day, Roll Eyes Cue the catching of the bunny for a bum wash. There's nothing wrong with being a mad cat woman Big Grin

I tend to collect cats with things wrong with them...my favourite cat (who has also recently passed away) had a spinal problem which meant she couldn't walk properly, so she hopped like a rabbit...and one of the two I have left has only three legs, no teeth and is completely psycho... Crazy

do you have to wash them everyday katty??...i didn't realise rabbit care was that involved..... Eeker

No,it happens occasionally, they usually use their litter trays, but If they are dozy and half asleep they sometimes poop where they lie.I have loads of newspapers down in the cages.

My brother conveniently forgot to tell me about the softer type of rabbit poo. when I had his house rabbit (ahhhh Clyde) for him, I asked "what about him pooing"... and was told... "its fine... it'll be little pellet rabbit poo".

I came home and wondered where the mini cow pats had come from!
