Aye, have to agree. So don't want this to fall down the pan so everyone can say told you it was shit. If C4 don't want it, or can't afford it they should give it to someone who does/can.

personaly I think c4 are frightened of BB now, its become something they cant control
after "Shilpa gate" Alex with her bop bop bop threats, and spitgate etc,
its a hot potato and they want 100% control of what we see now,....BUT we will have to see how it pans out,
you only have to think back to the old forum and see the way the mods treated us (no doubt they had instructions from c4)
yhey are running scared now terrified of a "bad press" etc.
we can only hope they drop it and some channel with balls buys it and gives it back to the people,

The fact is that C4 are suffering from the economic downturn. They are cutting costs where they can as advertising isn't bringing in enough revenue. BB is still the most successful show on the channel so I don't agree they have given up on it, they are just cutting the peripheral costs of producing it and sticking to the core show where costs can be kept in check.

I agree with you Girlrider. Over the last few years I've been watching less and less BB. The original idea was a good one, then they ruined it by attracting and taking on wannabes and numpties with oceansful of ego but thimblesful of personality/talent!

They need to go back to basics and have it as it was when it was first aired.

Live feed is shit, it is constantly censored and it is just boring. Why you want to spend your time watching other people eating, sleeping etc is beyond me. There is live feed some nights and the highlights show, get a life!

Yep, I think you're exactly right on all points. The thing with C4 wanting control I think is right, however, the problem with that is that it takes away the excitement that is BB. We don't a contrived edited highlights show everyday - we want , well I want the freedom to make my mind up about housemates and not to be encouraged to favour a particular housemate due to favourable editing. And yes in hindsight, maybe the closure of the C4 forums is a good thing as I couldn't tolerate the censorship and the inabilty for fms to have freedom of speech (within reason of course).

In the grand scheme of things it really isn't that important but it still p1$$es me off! I just cannot see this series being as interesting for me as a fan.

Lol! Well that told me! Whether live feed it 'sh!t' or not is a matter of opinion, nevertheless I accept that that is your opinion. I was merely expressing a sentiment and I'm not quite sure why you feel the need to tell me to 'get a life'. Isn't that a very cliched response? I will say that trust me I do have a life; a rather hectic one at that; certainly not enough to beat your 262 posts to my 33 (regardless of the 10 extra days you've been registered.

I loved the fact that you could dip in and out of Live Feed around your RL commitments, thats the thing I will miss. Its not that you have no life people tuned in when they wanted. I used to have an hour chilling after work, then my night owl time when I had the tv to myself. Will miss that and just worry that it will be cherry picked what we see.

To me,gettin rid of live feed allows ch4 to manipulate viewers more than before reresentation of characters,etc

and I WAS on de dole and watched it, gave me something to do inbetween being bullied into taking crap jobs,
and now I am self employed so I could watch whenever I felt like a break, day or night,
might NOT suit every ones life style that dont mean folk have to get "arsey" about it

Wasn't the whole original point of BB that we (the public) could watch the HMs all day, everyday? Taking that away has taken away the very soul of BB imo.

And I HAD a life.Mostly revolving round my (then) small kids needs that didnt necessarily correspond with the 9 to 5's of those who presume to have more important lives than the rest of us.
If BB live feeds not relevant to you dont watch it.It really is that simple

I had my suspicions about the CBB this year, they always knew when it was the 2hr LF in the day, you could see them doing their hair/make-up for it. I will be watching, but not voting as we don't know what we're missing. I just hope they have a few night owls so the late night LF isn't completely wasted.

and this coming from someone who's avatar is the flag of a country that channel 4 removed the public vote from last year, little did we know then that it wasnt just the end of the irish having a vote but also the end of big brother, now they give us their scripted soap opera and expect fans to just put up with it, whats realy sad is that some who claim to be bb fans are actualy ok with ch4's destruction of the show they claim to love.

well fook me, i agree with one of ohg's posts completely.

its not just those on the dole but the students, the retirred, the disabled and those on holiday or leave who would dip in and out of the live feed then post what they had seen on forums for others to read, when something kicked off people would switch on the +1 feed to watch it because they heard about it on the forums, the papers would pick up on the buzz on the forums and this raised the hype of the show, without live feed there is nothing to dip into, no forum threads about it, no buzz, now newspaper coverage and thus no interest, so if one person is happy to be spoon fed their hour of carefully edited favouritism by ch4 then so be it, but thats not watching big brother or being involved, thats just watching a soap opera.

It may well be the end of an era Girlrider you are right, but, it has been really great. I was thinking of giving this series a miss for lack of LF and just the way C4 are treating BB fans. But I caught a little bit of that prog looking back at BB the other day, and it brought back so many good memories I don't think I could miss it this year. We have had a great long run of it, and its been brilliant. It can't last forever can it?

I agree with you there. Without live feed, it is not going to be worth watching it. Ok, it is on from 11pm until the early hours - but not everyone is up at that time.
