aww I'll miss you. I've managed to dodge it twice (once when I was heavily pregnant and once because I was taking my kid to dialysis 3 times a weeks).....if I ever get in to trouble I'd love someone as reasoned as you on the jury of my case *wipes brown bit off nose*
Wonder if you will have one of those who both my hubby and I had while doing jury service. I have been called twice and my hubby once and we both had 'em. No way no how are they gonna find anyone guilty of anything Good luck!

Could be because they thought they were innocent.
Ooh good luck! hope you get an interesting but not too gory case!
Good luck Toid! I`ve had my jury juty cancelled..twice. I bought my robe and wig and everyfing.

Nope, in all cases they said that was their stance, even before the cases started. No way were they going to go for a guilty verdict!!! Its such fun to be on jury duty with people like that NOT!
Deman, - on your return I will tell you if people have been "talking" about you.
I hope it is not too much of an ordeal for you. We'll miss you.

Demantoid, I doubt if your cases will be like this one. Allow for the fact that this little film was made by 8 year olds.

Sorry squiggle, I find that difficult to believe. A juror would have reported "their stance." It`s illegal.

Poor sod.

I hope you are picked to sit in one and not just left in the waiting room for ever. Be prepared and take something to do, reading, games console, crosswords, etc.
you may get off..lol! I was called for it years back, had to arrange time off from work, Boss was an ars**le about it, got there, and was one of many not called..Boss was even more of an A8s8ole when got back to work..

Exactly. Someone who took the process seriously would do that - I know I would.I think I can now post in here again...
I'm banking on hours of boredom - OH did jury duty at the same court a while back and never got selected. They have DVDs and all sorts to keep people amused. I'm going to take a book and some knitting

Gotta be something in a nice fine cashmere...I'll let you choose colour and article/pattern, (preferably not socks or gloves!!!)
Pity - I'm thinking of diving into the world of hand-knitted socks..

Sorry Scotty its fact. What fascinated me was that it happened in my husband's case too. How many of these people are there? And incidentally you are on a jury, you have had to go through the rigmarole of being picked, those judges can be quite stern, then you find out a fellow juror has this attitude, who are you gonna tell? Well perhaps you are much braver than me and all the rest of my fellow jurors who knows? Suffice it to say that as my last case finished I made a vow to myself that never ever would I do jury service again, no matter what excuse I might have to come up. And that is still the way I feel. Incidentally one my fellow jurors in my last case was Bob Crow's brother in law.

~sigh~ squiggle, please go and disrupt someone else's thread, if you don't mind. I'm sure your friends in the Freddie thread would be more than interested..

Probably less than the 'No smoke without fire, definitely guilty' brigade! Reference:

Sorry Deman not trying to 'disrupt' any thread. Just joining in. I thought that's what a forum was about.Reference:squiggle

Are you allowed to say that? I'm not a legal brain, so I'm just checking.

Or "tweaking tails" as you called it in the Freddie thread, when you were supposedly "just joining in" the political threads. Do yourself a favour and leave a thread started by someone who has previously told you they're not interested in anything you say.

As far as I know Deman you do not own this forum. You do not own this thread. I will post in any thread that takes my fancy. Tweaking tails was a lighthearted reference to being severely outvoted in many political threads. I am surprised at the bitter tone you are taking. As I say, as far as I know you do not have the right to tell me where or when to post. Hope you enjoy your jury duty.

The Renault 5 were all fooking guilty IMHO

Am I not allowed to say that I was on jury service with Bob Crow's brother in law, who was incidentally very proud of the fact and told us all repeatedly. I have no idea. What sort of law would I be breaking I wonder?
Whatever, squiggle - I'm sure you'll go and boo-hoo later about horrible me, in your favourite thread for bitching about other forum members. Post where you like, if it means that much to you, dearie. You're not worth the bother.

Sorry suzy, I didn't mean to sound abrupt. The guy was very proud of his famous relation.
I can't promise, super. Never knitted any before! My first pair will probably either fit an elephant, or an unusually narrow-footed mouse..
Deman if you have a quick look in the Freddie thread, which you obviously do, then you will know that we do not bitch about other forum members. Quite the opposite in fact. Your opinion of me does not bother me in the slightest. If you feel that way about me and my posts feel free to ignore them (and me). As for me I shall continue to enjoy the forum in my own sweet way.
