Sorry I'm a bit slow with this response ... but I've only just learnt this news about Charlies mum.

I've been saying this for weeks, whilst I am sympthetic to Charlie's mother's illness, I detest the way he is using it to emotionally blackmail the HM for never wanting to nom him, and for emotionally blackmailing us the viewers.
Senora Reyes
from what I could understand, she HAD been in coma for 6 months, when she came out of it she can't speak, eat or recognise anyone. She is now in a nursing home (where she will be receiving 24 hour care)
Charlie's dad said the nurses had seen a glimmer of something (didn't catch what) and that they were going to be taking her for therapy.

Does anyone know what caused the coma to happen?
I have been in a week long coma, caused by a head injury (long time ago)so I'm wondering what caused Charlie's mums coma.

i agree 100% no sob stories should ever be revealed on reality TV, because they do sway opinions in their favour.

Compare how he took his message from home with Bea. Unless we weren't shown enough of his reaction I say Charli controlled his emotions very well.

Me too .............if his mother is in a coma there is very little that he can do .............I'm sure being in the house has given his family a real boost. When there is illness in the family it can become all encompassing and you all become introspective ......i think he's done the right thing.

and i dont think he's going for the sympathy vote .........i'm sure he'd rather have his mother well .......it's obvious that he's gonna talk about it though. they all speak of their family dont they?

I agree Senora, the last three ex housemates before Freddie mentioned it. We've heard it a few times, we all know his mums been in a coma and it's very tragic, but I wouldn't vote for Charlie becuase of it.

whilst i agree with you to a degree he has been using it in the house to great effect (ever wondered why evictees say charlie deserves to win?) and now as its getting closer to the finalits getting more publicity, looks like a gameplan to me.

I was shocked to learn it was 6 months as the press said 2 years

My nerves would be shot to pieces wondering what was going on with my mum

I understand he has his life to live, but its such a short time i would be really worried incase i wasnt there if anything went wrong,or to assist in any way.
C
Its been 6months and Charlie speaks about this lots on live feed, saying he would use the money to help her,

I agree with you, there is no way in hell I would be in a BB house if my Mother was in a coma. Not that I think people should hold it against him, to me is shows he is NOT the caring person he tries very badly to portray. Wish his Mother well it must be a tough family situation

I'd understand it more, if his mum had been in a coma or persistent vegetative state for ages - life has to go on. But only six months? Anything could have happened in the time he's been away Confused

I don't get him, we were waiting for news each second of every minute of everyday hoping and praying for change....

... while he auditioned for BB, went through the selection process, got taken away into hiding and then into the house Shake Head

I have no problem with him going in, life should go on as much as possible and I suspect he saw this as a unique opportunity.

As for saying he'll use the money to help his money, what utter bollocks. When Gary Linikers kid had leukemia not unsurprisingly he said what could he do as he was happy to use all his money to get whatever help he could. The doctors told him there wasn't anything he could do as the NHS was quite genuinely the place he'd get the best treatment. I suspect that would be the same if you were in a coma.
