I know it's only a little op (tomorrow), but I'm still scared. Part of me hopes they have to call it off..

nope get it over and done with it will be this time tomorrow night before you know it and it will be behind you xxx
Thanks - I know I'm being a baby and plenty of peeps have real health issues, not just stupid dodgy shoulders. ~slaps self round head~
Get it done and out of the way Deman...start the New Year fresh! Hope all goes well missus
Oooh... I would be totally crapping it to Toid! TBH I think most people would be at least apprehensive, more probably quite jittery about it.
(I don't even know what you're having done... but sending calming oooommms to you. You know in your logical mind that this bit now is the worst bit... the anticipation... once you are there and things are happening you'll be fine xxxx)

Awww Deman you'll be fine I was the same as you (well, I was cacking myself truth be told), but I'm glad I got it out of the way. What's worrying you? Is it risks, the anaesthetic, the recovery? Are you having a general or local anaesthetic?
It's the general anaesthetic that bothers me most - and they've said it's going to hurt like hell afterwards.
Ah. That's the bit they didn't tell me. I was fine with my general, came round and was asking for handbags and chocolate (usually I develop tourettes and try to kill everyone), but didn't feel crap at all, so it might not be that bad.
Hopefully they'll dose you up with enough morphine and painkillers to get you through the first 24 or so hours and give you enough meds on leaving to see you through.
You'll be alright though, you know to expect pain afterwards and usually when we dread something that much it turns out not to be as bad as we thought

I'm really hoping that's the case. I'm usually pretty good with pain, but actually having them tell me it's going to hurt (rather than the usual 'doctor-speak' - 'discomfort', etc) has floored me a bit.Gaaahhh, don't listen to me, I just fancied a moan. And I've talked the OH's ears off!

Awww Toid Just make sure that they give you stuff for the pain and don't do the 'grin and bear it' routine.
Make sure your OH helps you a lot and don't even think of going against the physios advice with lifting etc afterwards.
Wishing you better xxx

Thanks, Veggie, and everyone
I've been told not to lift a finger over Christmas, which sounds OK to me! And I mustn't pick up anything heavier than 2 pounds for a good six weeks.

I actually signed in to wish you the best Deman...but 10 flippin attempts to post and it still won't bloomin work
Either way, however you think you'll feel tomorrow, there's nothing like that feeling that it's over and done with and every day that passes is a day that you're feeling better and that relief usually takes over
The very, very best of luck

nothing I say will change your state of mind but just remember when you get home you can get straight on here & gets lots of sympathy & cuddles
Good luck with the op Deman. If you are in pain after the op, make sure you complain loudly - they'll give you something then.
Cheers, lovelies
I feel a bit better now!

Good luck for tomorrow Demantoid, it's 12 months tomorrow since I had a biopsy on my throat, neck and tongue...we share an anniversary Had the benign cyst removed in February and the op was nothing, although nerve pain in my shoulder still bothers me. I'm sure you'll be fine and take the pain killers
DAA
That's what I mean when I say my problems are nothing compared to what others have gone through.
Anyway - my chariot through the snow awaits (OH is picking me up) so I'll sign off now. See you all anon, and Merry Christmas!
