I think it's a settling in period, and stuffs happened over the last few days. Hopefully when BB gets going, it will just be like old times.

Don't worry, I was on Channel 4 nearly 7 years and still felt like that.

I kinda feel the same really - all the early bad feeling didn't help, nor I think does the Troll Tank. It's like two forums and there seems to be a definitey 'them and us' - and if you don't take sides, you don't belong anywhere.

Edit to add - the only place I've felt at home really was Mrs BBV's Apprentice thread.

Agree with you Kaffy I have looked into the Troll tank but why would you deliberately want to post in a forum that was contentious..I just don't get it

I know what you mean.
But weighing everything up I think it is very good here and we are lucky.
I didn`t like the attention-seeking silliness we have seen. Like people running wild in a new house.
I get somewhat confused by the many smileys, pictures, moving images and artwork.
But I think perhaps it will sort itself out much more when Big Brother starts and we get all the BB threads on the BB Forum, and the lounge will clearly be an `off-topic` type forum.
I feel the Eve Community people have been friendly and helpful.
So overall I still don`t quite feel at home, but there are many positives and I feel it will settle down soon.
Change is difficult.

I felt that way too and really thought of leaving as I didn't feel I fitted in at all here in the same way I feel comfortable on other Forums.

I've decided to take it one day at a time to see how it goes. I do think this Forum offers better facilities like being able to edit without a stupid time limit, post links which most Forums I'm aware of allow anyway, post pics etc. It's not the Forum set up that I've a problem with, just some of the threads sometimes and some of the responses even though the Mods are better here

Oh! This is so the thread I needed to see! I arrived recently and while the shoite was hitting the fan all over the place I could move around and post merrily... Now it's settled down and I'm finding it really difficult to break into a gang of friends and not feel a pesky newbie! But I still think this forum is refreshing and witty and funny... just don't think I can find a way to belong yet... Boo hoo!

I know what you mean, but I do think it's early days. Lets all give it time because it would be such a shame for our old community to drift apart.

To be able to start a thread in the Troll Tank instead of on the main board doesn't help really. It is kind of divisive and creates a "them and us" atmosphere. I feel that that area should be reserved for contentious posts to be moved to when they are beginning to get out of control, to protect the main board, really.

The Eve people have been splendid for giving us this lovely shiny new place, and the format couldn't be much better, and I'm really grateful to them.

hi jen, i prefer this forum to ch4,i found ch4 way to restrictive ,this place has a more lighthearted feel to it and is very friendly, i've found

i think if people want to seperate themselves and live in the troll tank then let them, no skin of my nose..

Thank god it's not just me, I was beginning to feel like I was on everyones ignore list. I sort of drift between the three not really sure where to settle and feeling, like OP said, very lost. Doesn't help that I don't always get the lingo and most of the time I don't know what the heck is going on.

I didn't even know there was a troll tank!!

Just ventured in there - tentatively - read a few posts and came rushing back out again!!

The posts were either as others have said completely over my head - talking about things I didn't understand, or rude and scary ones.

I do think once BB gets under way this may help a lot. There must be hundreds of people who only post when BB is on who have yet to discover that the C4 forum no longer exists - we can only hope they find this place
