This sounds a bit mamby pamby too... a friend said to me when I was pregnant last that during the labour I should channel the urge to scream my head off into concentration on getting the baby out and using this feeling to push.

I did this, kinda and it helped no end.

I agree re the not fighting the pain thing too...we are complex creatures us humans! Crazy

that's what i did. i screamed while contractions made me feel better than breathing after a point lol, but when able to push i just went silent and pushed....popped out in under 3 mins Thumbs Up
screaming can make your pushing weaker as it uses most of the energy you are using. sounds silly but it's true lol

i was told to moo Ninja

mooing is a lower sound than a shrill bloodcurdling scream so it focuses your energy down-over where it needs to be.

it worked for me in that i started laughing and relaxed a bit and felt less panicey Laugh

Why isnt c section optional???. I cant imagine going through the pain of giving birth the natural way

They're only optional if you have thousands to spend (go private) or usually for NHS if the baby is breech or the head/baby is too big to deliver naturally.

Don't worry though, if the thought of a natural birth (which millions of women go through over and over again) is too much then you can just cheat and buy one Smiler

I'm still with child! Roll Eyes

Pains are horrendous but just too far apart to mean active labour....have been shopping to Mothercare and had a KFC, got told I am way too mahoosive to be just having one baby by an ugly bint and told her,"Yes, but my affliction will be a distant memory in a week or so!!!"...... Ninja Pregnancy brings out the biatch in me, especially when stoopid people say tactless statements!

So the wait goes on! Thanks for the well wishes! xxxx Valentine

It's not boring, it just sounds so uncomfy that it sounds like the sooner the little one arrives the better. Hug Hug Hug

Thanks again for the lovely posts everybody!

I went to my hospital appointment this morning and had a good check over, bp is ok, baby is very lively and they gave me my pre-meds that I have to take at 10pm tomorrow and 6am Friday....also shown the lovely private room I am being allocated (My consultant think my social situation, having an autistic child and another child too...will be better for all, I can remain calm knowing my son is contained in my room not running amok on a ward!!) for free!

Have to go back to labour ward at 9pm tomorrow for a pre-op injection and then will be admitted at 8am on Friday, by lunchtime at the very latest I will be a new mummy again! (Unless the baby decides to get a move on!)

Still having contractions, but nothing close enough to make me want to go to Maternity!
