You not getting a patterdale then?

Cos they're a type rather than a breed they are not KC recognised so you can get them for about ÂĢ200, which is what we paid for our nutter...who has now lerned how to jump up and get into the pool with the kids...she likes a good swim.

The only way i would suggest to get a cheaper border terrier is if there is a rescue society for them or maybe you travel further a field to get one...as with anything they're generally cheaper away from London,

I'm all tanned and lovely thank you for asking!! Big Grin

When you go and see any puppies just make sure you see them with the mother and see how she behaves....

The mother of Ruby was all over us and not the least bit bothered by us picking the pups up...and when I picked her up she snuggled undermy chin and went to sleep....lulled us into a false sense of security cos she's been a nutter ever since...but...she has never snarled at another dog or a person.

Nice thread Croc! Big Grin

Watty... your other option on getting a Border, a bit cheaper is to check local ads in papers, shop windows etc.

To get a dog registered on the Kennel Club Stud Book (yes, ok, I confess... I did briefly consider being a dog pimp! Ninja) they have to produce a 'viable' litter first. Its these litters than are usually cheaper.

Otherwise... as Croc says... rescue centres... and google to see if there is a Border Terrier association... they will run adverts for rehoming dogs (dunno if its the same, but the Cairn Association also pays all the vet bills for the dogs life, if you rehome one that goes through them!)
