Thank you all - I've downloaded Here Come the Girls and then I did a bit of searching and Have also downloaded A Place Called Freedom - Ken Follett and Only Time will Tell - Jeffrey Archer. Also seen a Penelope Lively one I fancy - I'm only going for a week though  I love my Kindle but .........there's nothing like a proper book really - I want to see the cover and feel the pages.

Hi all .................I did read 'Here Come the Girls' on me hols - a nice, light hearted way to unwind on first couple of days. I then read Jeffrey Archer - Only Time Will Tell - a really good read and part of a trilogy - I'll certainly be reading the other two. I'm currently reading 'A Place Called Freedom' - Ken Follett - that's really good too. I like to learn 'bits' of history as I read - I was overall happy with my choice of holiday reads.

Thanks everyone.

I'm reading Wolf Hall on kindle at the moment. Its about Thomas Cromwell and the court of Henry VIII. Gripping so far.

Its not really history but a right rollicking read is Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier.

I quite like the sound of that. I'm sure I read Jamaica Inn years ago. Wasn't there a TV dramatisation starring Tom Bell many moons ago?

Cheers for the kindle/fb link - I may give that a go. I do love browsing book shops - I don't do it so much since I got the Kindle. Also - I can never remember the name of the book I'm reading as I no longer have the cover to remind me - I do miss a good book cover.

I didn't see the TV version but Tom Bell would have been brilliant casting.

Amazon is great for a potter around Soozy. The ratings/ reviews are helpful and theres the "peek inside" option where you can read excerpts to see if its your type of book.

I agree with you there's nothing like an actual physical book though ...
