i did wonder if people being malnourished was the reason they suddenly got 12 stars the day  brian left.i think loads of people must have been thinking the same thing after, what was it?  5 days of rice and beans? which celebs said they weren't eating anyways.

They are speaking to Limahl (sp) at the moment and he said he was straving by the time he left, he also said he didn't pack as he didn't think he would leave as he was a new comer and he was surprised that it was him, he thinks Rosemary could go on and win the show

I thought the same. After Brian's breakdown I think they maybe panicked. TBH - they do have a duty of care - a bit of hunger is one thing but a continuous diet of rice, beans and manky water can't be healthy.

I know a lot of people find it amusing to see them starving but I really enjoyed the series with Linda Barker and Anthony Worral Thompson (there was live feed in them days) - in the morning (here) you'd see them preparing and eating unusual dishes. It's really a hard enough life out there anyway - starving them doesn't make for interesting/amusing telly IMO.

Surely though even if they only have rice and beans the production staff must still have to work out how much calories they need each day they aren't going to sit there and watch them starve to death

The production team have been asked before about the diet of rice and beans. They've said the rations contain the right amount of nutritional value. I've not really noticed if they're given individual portions of the food suitable for their personal dietary needs, or if the camp receives the rice and beans and it's all cooked together and handed out. Every person's body is different, in height, weight and individual nutritional requirements so some may not be receiving what their body needs. Instead of handing out treats like ice lollies they should consider giving them fruit like bananas and oranges etc imo

Brian Conley has revealed that he stopped  taking antidepressants during his time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here,  despite having been using them for the past 15 years.

The comedian was forced to quit the show  after he fell ill in the jungle and was diagnosed with malnutrition and  exhaustion.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Daybreak,  Brian, 51, told how he stopped taking the drugs despite producers telling him to  continue with the medication.

He said: 'They said if I did not comply with  these regulations then I would not be on the show.

'It all got very serious when it was legally  binding.'

Having voluntarily given up the drugs after  agreeing to take them in order to appear in the show, Brian admitted that he  found his time in Australia really tough.

He said: 'It is under extreme circumstances  and I started to feel really bad because in the end, very shortly after that, I  did have to leave.

'I had an examination and they found I had  malnutrition and was suffering from exhaustion.

'They sedated me in hospital and gave me a  tablet that would probably knock out a horse for two days. I woke up with a  saline drip in my arm thinking, 'what on earth has happened  here?''.

The comic, who was in the jungle for 10 days,  had wanted to win the show as his children encouraged him to take part in it,  but the lack of food and sleep made it difficult to continue.

Brian said: 'All my kids said I had to go out  there and win the stick. It's not fluffy out there, it's tough - it's really  tough.

'It was bad, because it was out of my control  and it was their decision. I couldn't lie to them. I've taken these tablets for  15 years.

'I feel very proud that I stuck to my guns  and that I said well I have to go I feel very proud that I didn’t saunter out  and walk straight into the Versace  - that I had to be sedated because of  exhaustion I feel very proud that I got through it and it actually made me a  much stronger man and you’re looking at someone who doesn’t need  anti-depressants and I realise that now.

'ITV is a big huge company, they have got to  do it right and if I've brought these tablets in, I've got to take  them.'

What a dumb thing to do , If he wanted to come off his meds then it should have been gradual and  under doctor supervision .
