Can I add as well:
1992 - I would tell myself to do it regardless because I would never get another chance and, even though it doesn't seem like it now (then), it would be sooooo important to me later (now).
Dare we ask, what was it??
Having a baby.

Probably the opposite for me Spongebob - learn to keep my trap shut.

Mike and Julia's wedding May 1990 - don't go.
More details please.. it is the law

Grrr.... Ex-OH and I had split up 7 months earlier. He'd been seeing someone else (we weren't married at the time but had house/mortgage yada yada). After 7 months I'd gone through all the shitty bit and was having a ball. He'd been in contact during the last couple of weeks before the wedding but as he then lived 200 miles away I'd managed to avoid phone calls - even had my number changed.
I went to the wedding (I'd accepted invite 6 months ago, he'd not) and discovered he'd accepted last minute and we were sat next to each other.
Anyway, suffice to say I'm a sucker for a sob story and he really worried me, to the extent I bought his whole sorry tale at face value and agreed to start seeing him again. I was seriously concerned about his mental state at that time. What can I say? I was young. What a sap I was.

In 1974, I went to a party as me (the real me)...and toward the end, a thug who'd been pestering me all evening found a chance to put his hand up my skirt.
He didn't like what he found there, so he and his friend dragged me outside and kicked the sh*t out of me.
I spent three days in a coma, six months recovering from my injuries, and I still, occasionally, wake up screaming.
Oh, and I failed all my exams, and lost the chance to go to university.
So, given the opportunity, I'd go back to the day before, and tell my 15-year-old self not to go, no matter how much fun she thinks it'll be.
(Well, you did ask...)
Oh hon...
Feeling you Skive ...
So, on the same theme ..
2002 .. go for that smear when the reminder came and probably get away with only having laser treatement instead of faffing for a year and ending up having a full hysterectomy

life really does throw some stuff along the way, but we would not be the people we are without things that happen..all we can do is try and advise the younger generation, who think they are the first to ever fall in love, to ever have problems to ever face exams etc. etc.

And I have the cheek to whinge about marrying the shite who gave me two great kids. Just wish I'd have managed to choose them a great dad.

You sure gave them a great Mummy

Very true lightfoot. What's that old saying "youth is wasted on the young".

The thing is ... we are who we are because of the curve balls life has thrown us. You'd not recognise me 12 years ago from the person I am now, even though (aside from a pretty bad car accident in 2006 and a dodgy smear test result discovered 3 years later) I've never faced anything potentially life threatening.
What's that daft saying? It's the grit in the oyster than makes the pearl.

Arwen, please don't feel bad.
We're all dealt different hands in life; what matters is not what cards we get, but how we play them.

I know. I keep telling myself it was the genes calling to each other.
Which brings me to my Sept 1990 regret - I really should not have let HIM slip through my fingers. **sigh**
1. Don't do it.. it will be the one thing you regret for the rest of your life.
2. Listen to Zak.. he speaka da sense and will save you a whole two years of what turns out to be bollyoaks.
3. Rent it out don't sell it.
4. Ignore that stupid Doctor because in a weeks time you'll be in the hospital on a drip and close to death.
5. That gut feeling you had on Friday 13th.. trust it and skedaddle for tomorrow you'll be in surgery.
and a whole lot more..

If I could go back in time...I would never change the day I joined the foums. I have 'met' so many wonderful (yes and some not so wonderful, but you can't win 'em all) people here.
My daughter just asked me why I am grinning just now when I was reading Cariad's and Angelic's posts....how do I explain!
