Close Protection UK confirmed that it was using up to 30 unpaid staff and 50 apprentices, who were paid ÂĢ2.80 an hour, for the three-day event in London. A spokesman said the unpaid work was a trial for paid roles at the Olympics, which it had also won a contract to staff. Unpaid staff were expected to work two days out of the three-day holiday.

Nothing surprises me at all in class hate Britain.  I actually think it's becoming common morality not to give a shit how others are exploited as long as you aren't one of their number and you benefit from their labours. As long as the unemployed can be stigmatised as petty criminals and wilfully ignorant, anything goes.

but when the whole story comes out , i  willing to bet its been hyped  up by  the press to flog more papers.

although large comanies involved in this sort of work and cleaning companies too are usually a bunch of asswipes.

Yeah, but as erin highlighted ^^ they don't deny it per se. So I'd imagine it's yet another grubby element to the summer festivities ahead and the exploitation that is likely to occur thanks to the secret activities of LOCOG.
