I kid you not. I am 40 and she recently tracked me down on friends reunited saying she always remembered me (apparently I was a 'gifted' child - don't laugh!!) so we've been emailing a bit here and there but she lives in the States now and was back over so we met up and went for tea and it was actually a very nice catch up !!Just thought I'd share that.

I like wee stories like that
That's nice, Jonono. Considering the number of children she must have taught, you obviously made a very good impression on her.
Oh wow that's great
The other reason she remembers is it was her first few years of teaching and she kept our class for the next year, her memory was amazing for all of the kids in the class not just me, but she was lovely and at the time she awarded me a few books which my mum made me keep to this day! I came from a deprived area and from speaking to her the other day I found out she grew up in the same area so she obviously cared for us a lot. It makes me a bit tearful to think about I'm not kidding. But a privelige to meet again all these years later.

That is really lovely Jo. When you were speaking to her did you feel like she was still your teacher or was she just another adult now?
On the way to meet her I didn't know but I felt like I could be friends with her! She was lovely. I remember at school she was very gentle with us, she was only 20 at the time, I remember falling and cutting my knee and she gave me a hug like my mum would!!
Considering my P1 teacher gave me the belt for waiting for my scared pal at the scary outdoor loos this was a look up for me!
She gave me loads of school gossip which I would never have been party to at the time (being only 6)

aww i hope you keep in touch, she sounds lovely x
I think that's a lovely thing to have done. We often don't get that sort of opportunity. Many things tend to just fade into history. So this was great!
we will defo stay in touch, she is a facebook friend of mine now!!
How lovely

agreed.
I snogged my art teacher on a night out last year. She remembered me. I was one of her best students and got a really high grade in art and I fancied her like mad but obviously back then she wouldn't have been interested even if it had been legal.
Would have loved it to have gone further but think she found it a bit weird.
