I want it too
Next time you see one of their stalls set out in your town centre go have a look - they give you a free sky + box when you sign up that way.
The only problem with Sky TV is that the signal dies a death if a drop of rain falls, so be warned.
Ask them about that before you get it installed.

That was the old analogue broadcast. That was a nightmare when it rained. There is no problem with the digital broadcast, lol I should know living here in Scotland.
Had digital sky for a few years, and it always go off here in cumbria when it rains, a cloud strays withing a ten mile range. I wish we had cable here.
Be not downcast! Wait another year until they bring in their 3D channel... you can be in at the start then when everyone else is being asked to cough up for another upgrade!

We are on Sky digital, the same thing still happens, although today we had foul weather and it was fine.
When we first switched to Virgin from Sky, I hated it but now I am so glad it happened . Don't miss Sky at all.

Same here..at least cable doesn't stop when there's a rain shower or strong wind, which did happen a lot with sky.Virgin+ record 2 different channels and watch a third if you want..

We live right by the coast, looking out towards the Welsh Gower Peninsula. We have a lot of rain down here in Devon, we get a lot of winds too, gale force last night. We have Sky+ it is absolutely fantastic, wouldn't be without it, and our Sky has hardly given us any problems, so that is some feedback, hope it helps.

Sky+ has a built-in hard drive so you can record programmes, it stores loads. You can pause live TV, rewind etc. and it is great.
It's brilliant ! I never have loss of pics, sound etc due to weather.
Had normal Sky B4 but got a free upgrade throught their recommend a friend promotion - they are often doing them. Worth looking into that if you're serious

I love Virgin, haven't a bad word to say about them - and it sits well with my conscience that I'm not giving my hard earned to Sky.
We have the Virgin plus and its bloody brilliant.
Set it up to tape series and never again miss an episode of your favourite programme cos they're all in your recordings!

When we first got Sky we Took the SKY+ deal. It's good and you can get the basic package for about Β£20.00 a month. We opted for three,"Documentaries" "Music" "Cartoon network"
We don't like sports and we get..ahem.. DVD's cheap,so don't need the film channels.

We've had Sky+ about 6 months and I love it
Trouble is when I go elsewhere and watch an "ordinary" tv I keep trying to rewind bits of a programme!!
It does irritate the hell out of me when it rains and the signal goes, however.

I've always resisted getting sky as I don't want to put any money in the Murdoch coffers!
I've got Virgin media and I wouldn't swap it fo the world. I was gonna get the V+ box but didn't bother cos everything I would record is usually on catch up anyway, and I love the on demand service. we used to have digital sky and it used to go off evertime it rained , and there's a lot of crap channels too.
I switched to Virgin+ 18 months ago after being with Sky and having the Sky + for years.
Took a little bit of getting used to as you know where all the channels are etc. My hubby has moaned for the whole 18 months that he prefers Sky. My contract with Virgin is now up so I said OK to shut you up we'll go back to Sky.... his response "dont you dare V+ much better !
Catch up and TV choice is fab, the broadband is amazing much much better than Sky and saved mysef Β£30 month by having the top package.
Happy days!!

Not when you consider the kids are, between them, on the phone for at least 2 hours per night.
Oh yeah I s'pose.....bluddy teenagers!
I'd much rather pay that than have my son 'borrow' my mobile cos of my free minutes and end up going Β£120 over in one month!!
We've just upgraded to Sky+HD recently, all the sports channels, and all the movie channels, in crystal clear picture.
It's brilliant, and as I understand it, you can't get those channels in HD on Virgin Media...

There are some HD channels, but I don't have an HD telly, so I'm not fussed. I only sit 5 feet from it... I can see it ok.
We got Sky+ about 4 months ago and I love it We only have a basic package, but for the first time I can record programmes (and whole series) without having to read a manual, or remember it's on!! And as for the pause, play and rewind LF, I still find it awesome
