Obviously not thinking the same way he was Col

Funny thing is that the minute I mentioned meat, I knew I'd be shot down. I do realise that everything that isn't sweet is savoury.

Everyone to their own, but I can't do without me meat, I'm sorry

My goodness .... Congratulations and very well done to you ..... You must have amazing will power. I wish I could do the same.

For about the last 6 weeks I've been following the 5:2 diet, which is basically fasting 2 days out of seven & that's well enough for me .... So you have done amazingly well

Did you lose much weight? .... I think I've lost about 6lbs so far which I am very pleased with

Thanks Angel

On the odd occasion I did feel like grabbing some cake or chocolate bar, especially at my sister's birthday party. But you get through it.

I lost some (clothes have more room and the belts need an extra hole) but not massive amount. I really need to do more exercise and cut down on the pasta and bread to really lose the weight. But I do feel better for it.

Funnily enough it took 2 days following the end of my fast to actually have some chocolate.

I am thinking of doing it again and this time cut back on the bread and pasta, upping the exercise to see what happens. The aim was to lose weight slowly as all the articles I have read say that losing it too quickly usually means it goes back on as quick.

I think doing it slowly means you get used to your weight loss and eating regime and are less likely to reverse the woodwork.

Well done on your weight loss.

It's funny isn't it. Maybe you realised chocolate wasn't quite the 'be all and end all' that you once thought it was.

This 5:2 fasting thing has been interesting. I thought it would be hell, I was dreading the first day ....  but it's amazed me how I can actually go for most of my working day without food. ..... I am allowed 500 calories a day, so it's not all bad, I just need to 'food optimise' on those days & make wise choices.

I think it's helped me to cut down my food portions, although I do still allow myself treats such as chocolate etc on non-fast days

I probably used it too much as a snack and not enough as a treat. I have re-programmed myself to see it as a treat now
