I think the absolutely worst thing for him is that he continue to get his own way and remain essentially unchallenged - it just says to him it's OK .... and that can't be a good thing!
...which is why I say Josie's reaction was perfect. JJ is not beyond redemption. Yet. As for the way he's been raised. Is that his fault? You have an issue with JJ's behaviour then you look to his mother AND HIS FATHER.
