Did you know about it, or did he just turn up.

Why?Does he have a shoe fetish.
No.
His mother passed away 2 weeks ago, his father gives no shit.
He has been staying with us on and off for the last 3 weeks. We have asked him to live with us, and made our spare room his. He was chuffed and said yes. I now have to deal with his father, who doesn't care a less.
That's a lovely thing for you to do Cinds.....not many people would.
My mate moved in with us for a few weeks when we were teens, it was great craic til she threw up one night UNDER my bed! No idea how she managed to do that but I ended up getting her dressed (it was the middle of the night) and leaving her at her brothers house it was all good though coz she went back home after that
That's a big commitment,is he under 16? do you not have to inform social services etc,it could be a minefield as regards his father whether you think he cares or not, best to see where you stand.
I know Katty, mr cinds and I have discussed all of this before we made the offer to him. We'll deal with everything as and when it comes to us. But anyone with any decency seeing a 14 year old drifting from house to house with no real place to stay would have done the same thing.
Good Luck Cinds, like others have said it's a big thing to do and so very kind and caring.
I wouldn't worry about social services etc too much just yet though. It could just be the dads grieving in a very selfish way and you never know he may sort himself out given a little time.... (I'm assuming he's not always been an idiot there of course)
Hope it all goes ok for you Cinds, be prepared for the boys to fall out with each other too! i predict in the net month you will see this happen.
Haha Jen, the falling out is one of the topics on our list of things to talk to them about this evening.
The Dad thing is not going to change, they were separated and the kid has been living in this limbo for a lot longer than I initially realised.
Ah right got you, like i said good luck.. hope it all goes smoothly for you all
What a lovely thing to do Cinds. A very big undertaking. Very few people would do it nowadays.
I hope things turn out better for the poor little lad.

I agree, a lovely thing to do for Cinds
Lovely gesture Cinds
Very best of luck with it all.
You are doing a really kind thing, I hope it all works out, Cinds.
that's a pretty mega thing you're doing there Cinds Hope it all goes well, lucky boy to have someone looking out for him x
Cinds, you might have a wee slender body , but you have a great big fat heart!
You're good people x

Yeah, what she said ^^^^!
Thats really lovely Cinds. Hope all goes well too
Thank you all, but the lovely words weren't necessary, I was just a bit shell shocked when I posted this thread, it's not every day you acquire an extra teenager
He's a nice kid, and he deserves a chance, which he won't get if he stays (using the term stays very loosely) with his Dad. His life recently has been a case of finding out where his dad is getting drunk and going and dossing on the floor wherever that is.
You are the new Brad and Angelina! Can I see a photo before you sign any papers...giving birth to ugly kids if fine but adopting one and letting him sleep in my room is a no no!
Hope all goes ok...make sure you do a criminal records check first...he might be using your spare room to store his stolen goods! U know what the kidz are like these days
Seriously though you are a
I think he'll fit in just perfectly he's already been called a dweeb and understands that he is having a great honour bestowed upon him by me having to re-home my shoes and dresses so he can have the front room.
Won't anybody think of the shoes?
Im going to report you to social services, those poor shoes, in and out of a home. I will kindly offer to rehome them. SHAME ON YOU!
I could live in one of Cinds shoes!
Wow Cinds. You have my whole-hearted respect for what you are doing!
There will no doubt be tough times here and there......so make sure you bookmark this thread and come back to bask in the love and admiration (and the odd bit of piss taking) when you need a boost.
I could live in one of Cinds shoes!
AND I could still put it on and not notice you in there.
"There was an old Trollop who lived in a shoe, he had some many crockpots he didn't know what to do"
Thanks Ducky

Any more room for another teenage boy, in a couple of years?
Just wondering.

OK, but he's only eleven now, so I'm sure you'll be over any traumas by the time he reaches his teens.
Send him over now Blizz, I can pop him in the attic for the time being
