I do really love German Shepherd dogs though.

I had a German Shepherd for 13 years. I had to take her to the vet to be put to sleep because she had cancer. It took me the best part of half a bottle of vodka to have the courage to take her. I will never forget her, she was the best dog ever (and I know I have been going on about my Buddy). When she was about a year old and my son was still in a push chair, we went for a fish supper on a Friday night and sat on the bench in the square to eat it. Some old geezer came out of the local pub drunk and benign, wanted to say hallo to my baby son and Ness just gave this deep growl and put herself between my son and this person. I never forgot that, she did it lots of time after that, but I just remember this first one because she was so young.
