I watched it the other day; still think Gillian Anderson pitched it just right.

And Raymond was epic as Magwitch

I took some 'Highers' when I came over from the Fatherland and English was the most important. I fell in love with Dickens.

Seeing as this is where the cultured types are gathered. I have a question:

The new series with James Fox on BBC4 Brilliant Minds... about the three cities.

http://www.radiotimes.com/epis...-1---3-new-york-1951

Does anyone know what the jazzy piano music in it is called? I love it.

Fluffs - are you still in Poole? Did you see the air show?

Hi Rexi. I'm back home now, travelled back on Friday, so no air show.

I'm good at missing/ sabotaging it.

1st year I was a week too early.

2nd year the weather was awful and it was cancelled

3rd year was the year where one of the pilots died whilst practising - and it was cancelled.

I've given up! (Forgot about it actually.)

Really? So am I. My dad was a fireman and my mum was a biochemist. We (I) started off life in Hall Street.

And my dad was a "sparks" in the Navy during WWII.

We did see some planes flying in formation when we were at Sandbanks on Thursday and the Red Arrows flew over my sister's house. I thought it was just practice!

No, we weren't there looking for a house to buy. Just a stroll along the beach!

Shame! The reason I mentioned Hall Street was because one of the main gates to John Browns Shipyard was at the end of Hall Street.

The clue may be in the write up, Rog;  Thelonious Monk was a jazz pianist......

Give itunes a whirl and see if you can find it there, perhaps?

Ta Cosi   Its in the other two programmes on Paris and Vienna. I've heard it before just can't put a name it. Its more snappy than Thelonius Monk I think. Good detective guesswork though

Monk was banned from performing in New York for a number of years.

True story.

Top of my head, how about Watermelon Man if we're talking 'snappy' and not necessarily Monk.

We could be here all night guessing

Did Herbie Hancock cut the original... but MongoSantamaria had the international hit with it?

That's what I thought, but I'm not confident to call it.

Baba Brooks cut a very tasty ska version of Watermelon Man... but i am just seeing exactly how far "off topic" i can venture now.
