But the point about newbies being welcomed (or not) is a good one.
Exactly . . live and let live, we don't need to 'out' people.. I'm sure Lori 'n' team can spot those that come back and back and back after a ban and a ban and a ban !!!!!
Yep you're right but I do think that Sniper also has a point. I tend to deal with it by being friendly and chatting with any 'newbie' the same as I do with everyone else.
But if any newbie then starts pulling the same behaviour that we've seen time and time again then, if I can be bothered, I pull them up in the thread concerned.
From what I have seen the vast majority of fms here (whether they 'know' or think they know who a newbie was) tend to do the same.
Not everyone, granted, but most people
But the thing is.. it's only 'one person' that gets outed out all the time from the same style posting that they supposedly do... but we know there is at least 4 more on here that does a 'new name' and people post with them knowing who they are... but not that 'one' person.... !!!!
Oh well swings and roundabouts.. whatever goes... I'm sure Lori and team are on top of IP addresses....
I see......so when some of us 'out' this one person, it's merely 'supposition' on our half,
but according to your 'royal we' everyone knows at least 4 or more pseudo posters on here who keep coming back?
I can confirm my complete ignorance in knowing who these '4 or more' you're alluding to, am afraid. Furthermore, if you REALLY had faith in Lori and team being on top of IP addresses etc how the HELL do these 'supposedly' 4 or more posters keep coming 'back and back and back after ban and a ban and a ban'?
TBF, I haven't mentioned anything about 'posting styles' in this particular thread.
However, the poster's behaviour was emphasized, and the trend is evident within the 'Archive' threads.....
Like every member of this forum, I've agreed to comply with the rules when I signed up, however, I'm not vying for a 'position' of favouritism with forum moderators through insincere grovelling for fear of being banned, nor do I need reminding who's 'in charge'. I don't succumb to intimidation very well, nor will I keep schtum when I need to vent my views - I'm in charge of that department.
So, if I'm banned for articulating my views (Note: without the profanities) then I guess I signed away my very basic right to freedom of speech.
