I remember when there were no mobile phones.

I remember when there was no internet.

I remember when there were only 4 tv channels and the telly went off at night and just beeped.

I remember when we used to go down the phone box & ring the operator on '0', tell her to get off the line cos there's a train coming or ask what colour her knickers were.

I remember when there was a chip van come round the estate and it wasn't a health and safety issue to have a mobile inferno with kiddies queuing outside it.

I remember when summer lasted forever and there were proper snowy christmases.

What do you remember? Witch

I remember when penny sweets cost one old penny.

I remember when a packet of crisps had salt in a blue twist of greaseproof paper so you could - in theory - sprinkle your own preferred amount of salt on the crisps. I say in theory because it was usually damp and didn't flow. The crisps were often soggy too and the packet cost fourpence in old money. They only came in one flavour too, which was plain.

I remember when a gallon of petrol was 4/6 in old money.

I remember the present Queen's Coronation.

I remember at school during Assembly our headmistress telling us part of a hearing aid had been handed in to lost property and would the deaf child please go and collect it. It was actually the earpiece belonging to a reel to reel portable tape recorder.

I remember when my train fare to school cost tuppence in old money and that was a return ticket.

PMSL surely the deaf child wouldn't have been able to hear what the headmistress was saying if it was a hearing aid? Laugh
