Rexi, I'm doing all I can to avoid this, but it's one of the few threads on here that is actually altering my state of mind in real life.

Me too - every night it goes round and round in my brain!

It's not healthy how bothered I am Sooozy  Ah what the hell, I'm with you, it is a laughing matter

think it was a bit of a set of dodgy clues tho.. don't know how they all fit the answer

I was thinking on those lines too - I don't get it though?

can be vain? all around Us? All a bit flimsy really - could have been anyrthing!

So glad Shizzle came in to let us know  - it would have driven me mad not knowing!

But now I do know - i'm really none the wiser

It doesn't even fit with the sentence.

Ev (Peachy)

Yeah I'm almost sure I heard "3 syllable word" being said.. It doesn't even fit with half the clues anyway, they should have all the clues up on a page and explain how each one fits the sentence.  That's what I think anyway

Yeah I was surprised when I seen someone else on here looking to know about the word.. I just goggled the sentence and this forum popped up, so at least I wasn't the only one

Emaciated ?????????????? thank god now i can get back to work lol

i still dont think it matches with all the clues to be honest

Nor do I, but I can see why 'undernourished' was heralded as a good guess. They are very similar in meaning.

But why was the clue 'This kind of MAN...? Any emaciated person surely, not just men!

In my book it fits to exactly the same extent as Undernourished and doesn't fit the same bits as Undernourished too, even if you leave out the matching of syllables bit. (See my post on previous page)

Here goes, be kind never done this before:

All attempts to â€Ķâ€Ķâ€Ķ the hostage failed

Clues:

2 syllables (honest)

Could be a childhood game

This is illegal

If the person is a hostage, doesn't that mean they've already been kidnapped?
