I'm hopeless with automatics, is it not make sure it's in park, start car, clutch, and it's got to have a reverse...if you hit anything I'll edit this post Big Grin

Automatic cars are the bees knees .... I had countless lessons trying to drive a manual car and just couldn't 'get' the clutch ... I used to break out in a sweat when the instructor would pull up in the car ... One day I stalled the car in the the middle of the road trying to turn into a garage ... for my next lesson he brought an automatic car ... and I've never looked back ... Big Grin

i THINK by following halfwits calm and sensible approach i have convinced him to go straight home to wife Nod (well calm and sensible and lying approach Ninja)

me too!! autos are brill, people have a really outdated view of them but my o/h's got an auto lease car from work this time round and says he'd be reluctant to go back to a manual.

Nod

The only problem with automatics in the UK and Ireland is choice is so limited ... especially if you're buying a second hand car ... my first car was a japenese import and the indicators and wipers were the other way round ... but on the plus side it did have air conditioning ... Big Grin

I have a newer car now (not brand new though) and I love it like a baby ... Valentine

good point... problem is he is an arse ... his wife isn't!

Let her stay over and give him a quid for the bus.

she's gone home (upset) so i think he needs to go and apologise to her for being an arse

Give her a ring and let her know he's coming, she can lock the front door, go to bed and let him sleep on the doorstep for the night. Sorry, I have an arse for a brother as well, so these are things I have done to him Laugh

phoned him... he's going home (his home not mine)

Roll Eyes

I'm sure they will sort it out when he gets home. On the plus side you don't need a crash (no pun intended) course in automatic cars.

spesh since it me mams bwm x3 Ninja my dad does want me to drive it for when we go out for dinner (the downside of being the only non-drinker in the family) but i think they would rather be sober when they teach me Laugh
