Hey all.

My time in Korea is almost up and I'm planning to visit my friend in Australia around mid-March.

I need to apply for an ETA VISA and I'm a little confused about one of the options. Firstly, has anyone had experience of going to Australia, was the process pretty simple?

Anyway, here's the form i need to fill in https://visacentral.co.uk/eta-order.php

I'm a little stumped by the 'Contact Information' section. I have a choice between 'Traveller Contact' or 'New Contact', the site selects 'New Contact' as the default. However, considering I'm actually just travelling for a bit, would i just select 'Traveller Contact'? If i select it, it eliminates the need for me to fill in contact information - select it yourselves to see what I mean.

Any ideas?

Rawky are you sure you need a visa to visit Australia, if you have a British passport? From memory I simply filled out a short form we were given on the plane and produced my British passport at Perth airport. That was flying into Australia via Thailand. That was 20 years ago mind - maybe they have tightened restrictions?

But surely there's thousands of British people backpacking on their gap yah...coming into Australia from various countries etc so requiring a visa in advance seems unlikely.

It'd be different say if you have, an Irish passport, lots of countries require a visa application, whereas your Brit passport gets you in without much fuss.[ I'm from NI - dual citizenship - but I got a Brit passport as it avoids such hassle].

No, no, no, no, no!!

You can't go to Australia

Not because I'd miss you or anything but because I have a friend who moved to Aus last year and she is always putting up pics on facebook and it looks sooooo amazing.  You'd be putting up pics aswell and I'd be really jealous (or envious, who cares.....I'd be gutted!) if you were posting great pics from there too.

So no, you can't go to Australia.

Wait. So you haven't been jealous of my pics from South Korea?

Anways, thanks for all your replies. My friend in OZ said to select the Traveller option and apparently you do need at least an ETA for visiting Australia. Only costs ÂĢ20 and lasts a whole year
