My boss was very old school and fought the installation of comps tooth and nail

 

 

mine was too greedy 

It was an international firm and so he just kept putting it off.....and there were loads of other offices wanting it, so he got his way

Still didnt stop them robbing the memory out of every PC in one building when RAM was very expensive that year.  Cunningly wore masks, so only useful for catching staff shagging then

Well we had tech because I worked in IT but it was all a lot bigger and more clunky.  I remember the proud telecoms guy giving us the tour on my first working day showing us the state of the art IMB 1 terabit dual processor  mainframe.  My home PC is more powerful than that now

 

They still had some programs done by punch card and it would take all day to compile a program because the job queue was so long.
