They said they realised afterwards that they'd done the wrong thing and hadn't reckoned on consequences.  I'm not sure her outburst would be seen as endearing by everyone.

How do you know she's not the laziest?   and anyway we saw why Chris and Tony made the decision, there was no malice in it.
