That, effectively, has been their strategy all along - to deliberately let some die, I think.

Mine is what you've always seen. Not that you've ACTUALLY seen it, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I wonder if China does the same?
Allow traditional, unhealthy practices to continue knowing it can cause illness/death as a way of controlling population

I still feel that the messages about how we should ALL behave, regarding this virus, are not being delivered strongly enough. Do we need to see groups of people being marched off to prison/confinement in order to get this home to some that they are basically killing other people by their selfish and uncaring behaviour. It might make life a bit awkward for a while, but would they REALLY rather be dead!

Let some pensioners and ill people die and the welfare state saves milllions, people are hoarding and it boosts the economy, business cut employees and boost profits, NHS can’t cope and goes into privatisation...

had a sobering chat to my neighbour who runs the radiography in the big hospital....he says they are quiet at the moment waiting to see whether its going to go like Italy or less so...if the social distancing has worked. He says Boris was very late to take it seriously and we just don't know how bad its going to be for another 2 to 3 weeks. Terrible shortage of protective wear for doctors and nurses and ventilators . I'm sure you know all this but what I didn't know was that anyone presenting with lung cancer wont/cant be treated .Anyway lots of youngsters about in groups not respecting distancing at all. My son was furious when I told him because all the youngsters in SK know if they don't keep their distance what the consequences could be.Germany have banned groups of more than two people and I think that's good. They have the lowest death rate in Europe because they do mass testing. We are overrun with second homers and tourists who have come to escape the city but its wreaking havoc among the locals . I can understand why they've come but they need to respect us

I knew this ...I bet they were rubbing their hands thinking how much money they would save on pensions. I imagine them saying whats the cheapest way to handle this. The rest of the time and effort went into trying to spin it so it looks like science and strategy rather than callous greed. Unforgiveable.
And people wouldn't be behaving so selfishly and greedily if we hadn't have had this toxic Tory culture for so long.

I agree with all of this Amy, I hate the society we have become and not because of the virus, I've been saying it for years. We now have countless Tory voters screaming they have no income and what are the government going to do but for years they totally ignored, the poor, unemployed, disabled, zero hour contract workers, labeled them as scroungers and now they are in disbelief it has happened to them.
I really do feel sorry for everyone that are losing jobs, their companies, small businesses I really do. I feel for those who have worked hard to accomplish that and for their employees too..but everyone was warned most of us were a week away from those that were labeled scroungers that some didn't give a second thought about.
I also think the 'herd immunity' is still running in the background, otherwise we would have a complete lockdown. Yet Wandering Willie Johnson just advised it was ok to go out as long as you kept 2 metres apart...the man is a complete idiot. Those handles you're touching, those park benches you're sitting on are all bloody infected. The person you can't avoid and touch as you pass may have it...just stay in unless you really, really have to go out.
The Lake District was like a bank holiday weekend today...just eff off, we don't want you here. We have two hospitals that serve the second largest County in the UK and have been badly underfunded and neglected for 10 years...we can't cope with having you here.
Just stay safe.

yes I am totally with you on this...I had a row with a man up the road who owns a chain of pharmacies who was pro the herd immunity idea...this was weeks and weeks ago and he had already paid to put his mother in isolation.....very telling.
And we are overrun here too....mountain and sea rescue being sorely tested by the morons
one good thing when I look up there are no planes or plain trails, just clear beautiful sky......apart from the occasional billionaires helicopter
sorry my laptop is on its last legs and really slow ...today its not wanting to do emojis so hugs and kisses everyone at a safe distance of course

This is the exactly society we live in and I know people are saying you shouldn't politicise the situation...but it was politics that have ground our NHS to a shadow of what it was...it's very hard not to be angry and that I am
you stay well and safe too Amy
All Maccy D's closing from 7pm tomorrow. One by one, the country is closing.....it should be happening much more quicker though
I'm getting really upset over this now, not specifically about me and hubby, but the situation in general.
Statistic:-
UK 1st death 5th March 2020
UK death toll as of 22nd March 281 - only 20 days later!!!!
That's averaging over 100 deaths per day - and those b*****d selfish people are waltzing about deliberately infecting hundreds of others who might otherwise have remained unaffected!!!!!
We really DO need to round them all up and stick them in detention centres. Maybe (slim hope!) after 6 months or so of greater restricted freedom than they would have had at home, some people might get the message that this is bigger than just 'a wee bit of inconvenience'.
So it's sunny outside - open the windows and let the fresh air into your house. Or, if you have one, sit in your PRIVATE garden or do some gardening etc.
Even the death of an 18 year old doesn't seem to had much of an impact!
I recorded some live Australian soccer games over the weekend. Played before empty stadia.
One of the manager/coach’s was coughing his lungs up
Feeling sorry for myself so can I have a whinge to get it off my chest?
had raging toothache all weekend ...no painkillers available natch, the hoarders have cleaned them out.Gum by teeth has an abscess and so got a swollen gum as well
rang dentist this morning...not seeing patients , gave me an emergency dentist number....no dentist just the poor receptionist fielding calls. My dentist said I needed antibiotics....but there's nobody to give me a prescription.
Told me to try my doctor....got a phone appt for later this afternoon...so await the result of that. Then, to cap it all I end up with a lumpy allergic reaction to the soap I've been using...
Thanks for listening ....take care you lot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
.
My daughters first day just testing suspected cases, first call out was a confirmed case...I feel sick with worry for her
We are not acting quick enough, bloody bumbling and blustering is costing lives, every European Country that acted quickly and severely have shown a drop in cases the last two days
• Netherlands • Germany • Belgium • Austria • Norway • Denmark • Germany • Sweden • Poland
All report fewer new infections today than yesterday. Two days running where Euro countries show a drop. Exceptions; Greece, Spain, Portugal.
All eyes on Italy expected @ 5pm and we have been as slow or if not slower than Italy to react

Kaytee how awful.....hope you get something sorted really soon
Oh dear Kaytee, not good.
Have you tried Simple soap, or something from one of the Boots own ranges. They do soap free hypoallergenic cleansers.

Aww Dame worrying for you ...big hug
nervous times . Its going to be 2 or 3 weeks before we know what we are in for. Its an emotional rollercoaster one minute I'm thinking I ought to sort out my stuff so the kids wont have to when I die of this and the next I'm skipping about playing the stone game with my dog on the beach. Very angry with the government and very happy with South Korea....they are leading the way and have just published their rulings on climate change as they have realised this virus is just the beginning if we don't change our ways
Come here you lot ((((( HUG )))))
This is bloody awful - every twitch and ache is the virus - i'm scared to cough
Day 9 of isolating and it's no comfort at all
The news scares me - the airports are open to anyone with no restriction.
One comfort - if you can make it past 14days in isolation and show no symptoms - then remain in isolation - you can survive.
And another thing - i managed to get a full food order for delivery for Wednesday from ASDA - utterly shocked (toilet rolls too) !!
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. South Korea has reported the lowest number of new cases in four weeks - they're virtually through it. Even in Wuhan, the virus epicentre, the lockdown is being eased. Coronavirus is beatable - but only if we do it together.
Necessity is the Mother of invention - so a vaccine will come along
I believe it will be offered like the flu vaccine - to anyone over 50 and vulnerable groups, every year.
We've managed it with other viruses - why not this one?
We have to so we will
I have just heard on the radio that the PM is to address the nation tonight.

8.30pm.
BBC1 has a News Special after it, and the C4 news (currently on) is extended up to his broadcast.
Reading the confusion on twitter, the idiots statement amounted to nothing, zilch All people want is clarity and leadership, sadly the fecking clown in charge doesn't have either.Sports Direct owner declared his firm essential and workers must go to work, what the hell!!!!
Don't share households, how are parents going to get childminders in essential services? It's a total mess, seriously how people are not up in arms it's beyond me. I would go out just to smack him in his stupid gob it's people's lives this complete tool is playing with, pretending he is the next Churchill, doesn't work with me, he was a nasty git too.
All other countries who have put this measures in force compensated the work force before lockdown, our government hasn't for self employed and zero contracts so to them it's essential to go to work! This lockdown will not be enforced until peer pressure is applied like the rest of the make it up as you go along. shambles.
Do not be fooled, the three week supposed lockdown that isn't actually a lockdown, it gives the NHS a breather, 'herd immunity' is very much in force at the minute.
Andy Burnham Retweeted UK Prime Minister
OK, final tweet tonight everyone. Have now spoken to No10 & had it confirmed that people CAN leave home to work - as long as they fully observe the 2m distancing rule. Seems to me to be in conflict with the big #StayAtHome message. But that’s the official policy. Over & out!
Italy have twice the number of critical care beds per capita than the UK........we have 6.6 per hundred thousand people....Germany leads Europe with 30

Yes
They are making this up as they go along...This is nothing like what other countries are doing, all that fuss about a PM statement amounted to nothing much.... I've not slept a wink, I am so angry. Amy
