We've had a third death in our street in 4/5months and although we don't know for sure it was COVID, it's very scary

So very sad. Keep strong!
From the company I used to work for -
Last week job vacancies nationwide = 521
Today's job vacancies = 738
. . . partly due to the double jab rule and partly cos they're horrible

Never going back - utterly corrupt, couldn't tolerate it in my life anymore
Mum got booster at Centre for Life today - bedlam
Loads of people milling about - a right situation to catch the virus. It took ages.
One man went faint and had to be helped into another room and a young girl started to cry before her jab. I nearly went over to her and said I was just as sensitive but held back cos she might be riddled with the lurgy
And then I was asked if I wanted mine while I was there but they don't understand these things can't be rushed and I need to prepare myself before being stabbed ... so I made some excuse and we left
Like I said - bedlam

The JVCI on the news just now, have stated that the booster be administered 6months after your second vaccine.
They have extended the recipient age to over 40's as of today.

Yes, which I’m glad about cos that means my kids ( and dil ) will be eligible . …cos every little bit helps .
For what it's worth, I got my booster on Saturday. I was lucky in that I could easily get an appointment at a vaccination centre only 10 minutes walk away. One of colleagues who lives, shall we say, a little out of town, hasn't been as lucky: he's struggling to get an appointment, and the closest location is currently around 13 miles away...

I’d be the same if I had to travel Eugene …because I don’t drive ….but luckily I had my booster locally . Glad you’ve had yours too .
Chatting to a neighbour today - from a distance ... she might be smittle
She said she'd been offered a pneumonia jab on top of her COVID and Flu jabs - well we haven't been offered it and we're posh!!
She then said her grandson who is four has had a flu inhaler at school - a mask was placed over his face and he just had to breathe it in. Never heard the like!!

If it’s any consolation I wasn’t offered one either Renton, and I’m even posher than you . I love the idea of a flu inhaler though .

The Pneumococcal vaccination is available via the NHS, but it is only free of charge to those in the following high-risk categories: Babies under 2 years old. Adults over the age of 65. People with long term health conditions such as chronic kidney or heart disease.
The flu inhaler is a way of having the flu mist (a variation of the vaccine)....either a bit like an asthma inhaler or an oxygen mask.

I found this Baz...
People aged 65 and over only need a single pneumococcal vaccination. This vaccine is not given annually like the flu jab. If you have a long-term health condition you may only need a single, one-off pneumococcal vaccination, or a vaccination every 5 years, depending on your underlying health problem.

And what's the criteria?
Data from the UK Health Security Agency show there have been thousands more deaths than the five-year average in heart failure, heart disease, circulatory conditions and diabetes since the summer.
The number of deaths in private homes is also 40.9 per cent above the five-year average, with 964 excess deaths recorded in the most recent week, which runs up to November 5.
Kevin McConway, emeritus professor of applied statistics at The Open University, said: “Numbers of deaths from all causes do usually increase at this time of year, but the total number remains above the average for the corresponding week in the five years 2015 to 2019.
“So, on that definition, we still have excess deaths, as we have had for 18 straight weeks now, and not all those excess deaths are due to Covid-19.
“And we’re still seeing considerable excess numbers of deaths in people’s own homes, compared to the 2015-19 average, with most of those deaths not involving Covid-19.
“In the most recent week, there were 891 excess deaths at home that did not involve Covid-19 – that’s about 127 a day.”
