Although I agree in principle….you can’t enforce mask wearing when the public have a choice….having said that most staff in my local Tesco are still wearing their masks and so are the customers

It’s not masks Kaytee …it’s staff who refuse to get vaccinated

Baz

Well, as you can still catch and pass on Covid  whether you are vaccinated or not, I'm not sure Morrison's are going about this the right way!

True EFFT , but the way I look at it it can’t do any harm , and I think it’s about time someone makes a stand again the antivaxers….

Baz

And that cartoon is racist too!

There are 6 people shown on it, 5 white and 1 black. The white people are all speaking 'normal' English whilst the black guy is speaking, what amounts to, 'Pigin' English. Now why only the black guy, or why at all. Black people can speak 'normal' English too!

Unless they make it mandatory there’s not a lot businesses can do about them…..except saying no jab no job….which would end up with loads of unfair dismissal cases….which could cause a lot of extra costs🥰

And death is a potetial side effect of NOT having the vaccine - but let's conveniently ignore that!

I read a stat today that said that only 1 percent of death s are those who have been fully vaccinated

A lot of companies here have made the jab or weekly testing a condition of employment. Of course our idiot governor is fighting that in Florida

Hi Roxan How are you and your husband doing ? I think the firms are sensible ….and as you say , your governor is an idiot …a dangerous one at that !

They are trying to do that here, but there’s a lot of politicians and unions against it

We have the Mu variant exploding here now, the one that is vaccine resistant. He will be far more interested in gaining political capital by blaming this on Biden and illegal immigrants to do anything about it. We are a tourist economy here, and his policies have torpedoed the industry.

I’ve not heard of that variant Roxan

Same with the concerns about blood clots and myocarditis: you are much more likely to suffer from them due to Covid than as a side effect of the vaccine.

The only good news is that while Mu is highly transmissible, it is not as contagious as Delta so that should help keep the cases down.

That’s something I guess Roxan

I'm not having the flu jab....never do
and am not fussed about the booster as I didn't have my 2nd covid till early July ....I'll wait

They said elderly and vulnerable first for the booster, but can't have it less than 6 months after the 2nd jab. so won't necessarily get it at the same time as the flu jab assuming you get the flu jab anyway! And it sounds like that some people don't need/ won't be eligible for the booster.

Who are those people?

I was told that the plan is for my parents to have the booster jab at the same time as their flu jab - to the extent that the flu jab could be delayed to make it possible. Whether that degree of synchronization is really possible in practise, or they just get the shots as they become available, remains to be seen...

As for me personally: because of the 6 month gap EFFT refers to, I won't be eligible for a booster until November - and it's still possible I may not be offered one at all - so a tie-in's unlikely. I always get the flu jab, and TBH I'm starting to get a little nervous about waiting too long for it this year as possible events in October/November could result in me missing the boat. I've got a flu jab booked for 3rd week in October, but if the opportunity to get it done earlier comes up, I'll take it...

I don't know if I'd be eligible for a booster, but the 6 month gap would put it into November/December. At work I used to get the flu jab as soon as the vaccinations were rolled out and the schedule for Wishaw hospital came around, but now that I'm retired from work I have to wait for a call from my GP. Not sure if I got a 2019 jab, but my 2020 jab happened in January 2021!

My covid jabs were mid March and late May 2021.

My Dad is having both vaccines on Saturday ....he has had his flu jab religiously every year, but then he catches cold if someone sneezes in the next village.

The headmaster of my grandchildren's school (1100) pupils just sent letters out stating that masks in school are now mandatory from tomorrow, why this was changed is beyond me. I think we now have one of the highest infection rates in the country...world beating my foot. We certainly are world beating at showing the world what how incompetent we are with peoples lives
