If it's true it's a full 180.

From what I gathered from it was the concern of other viruses....the usual ones that folk catch but haven't because of distancing.......once we open fully, those viruses/bugs will start to pop up again causing mayhem on top of Covid.

It's already started amongst school children

Are you surprised Baz with all these events going on with massive crowds🙄🤬❤️

No, I’m not really Kaytee …..and if the figures for Scotland are anything to go by we will see an even bigger rise in the wake of the England match yesterday .🙄❤️❤️

They're talking about stopping the daily figure announcement, as they are out of context to the actual situation regards hospitalisations and deaths.....so continuing to spread fear.

The daily figures are proving inaccurate the more they delve into them….so I suppose project fear is wearing thin amongst many people now ,too many are ignoring the rules or to be kind, deciding to look after themselves

Absolute certainty…..many thousands were meeting together in fan zones on top of the 50,000 at the actual match❤️❤️

The Evening Standard’s revealed health workers and volunteers on the front line of the vaccine roll-out in London are being physically and verbally abused by anti-vaxxers.

Council leaders and the capital’s top nurse shared details of a number of incidents in the wake of the attack on Chris Whitty, the chief medical officer, at the weekend.

Our health editor Ross Lydall says these range from vaccine buses being targeted by anti-jab protesters to online abuse and threatening calls to council call centres.

He also says he’s heard claims of protesters pretending to be going for a vaccine, and then harassing staff inside centres.

I’m fed up with people whingeing about not being able to go abroad and moaning about the cost of UK holidays……I just tell them to pretend that they were born when I was young and a day out was classed as a holiday and get on with it

Harry Cole went out with Symmonds. He's the Political Editor of the Sun. He gets cctv exclusive of Hancock who knows when - breaks the news. Hancock was a dove. Boris calls a double bluff saying case closed end of the Friday knowing Hancocks done. Possibly another Sun blackmail exclusive for Sunday. Johnson hires a hawk who knows feck all about health and it's herd immunity - no going back. Job done. Deffo inside job.

Boris wanted herd immunity from the start - would mean he'd have very little to actually do - but the outcry was too great. So new plan A was to get a good many vaccinated, then basically go back to original 'plan' for herd immunity, because enough of the 'lacking common sense' population will be so tired of and frustrated by the restrictions that they'll buy anything they're fed about reasons for ditching everything in one fell swoop!

They are now quite clearly pandering to the uncaring masses!

I do understand that with transmission rates falling and a greater proportion  of the population having been double vaccinated therefore the risks having been reduced, society can start to open up a bit more, but this is still a very new virus and we still don't really know a great deal about it and certainly no idea of possible long term effects, it still feels a bit rash to chuck away all the rest of the restrictions in one go. And I apply this to all parts of the UK, as it appears we're all going to ditch most of everything left pretty much in one go, though the different parts of the UK might do it on different dates, but close enough together as will make little difference.

They are now saying there could be 100,000 infections daily by mid August …..so how the heck can they justify saying people don’t need to wear masks

Same as how they 'justified everything else! We're all vaccinated, or soon will be, so less likely to die.

Remember when Covid emerged the general assumption was that as it was A CORONAVIUS it would behave EXACTLY like all other coronaviruses, i.e. more or less disappear during the warmer months (late Spring to early Autumn) and only become of more concern in winter. In a way it does have this effect, but while colds and flu start from a very low base and increase in winter, Covid is starting from a much higher base (possibly higher than cold and flu's peak) and increasing to a much higher peak. So in these early days (of our knowledge of Covid) wouldn't it  make more sense to get the starting base as low as possible?

I don't necessarily think it's about pandering to the uncaring masses but more about getting the country going again, more specifically, the economy, and doing it in a way that they (the government) are held less accountable...hence leaving it up to joe public to decide how they behave ........money!

Hi everyone ! Corona is killing hot climates, it’s not just a winter thing. It can travel on pollen which explains why it hit the US sun belt so hard last summer.Just don’t understand the approach the UK has and is taking. It’s like watching a train wreck over and over in slow motion and not being able to do anything to stop it.

Hey Roxan

Par for the course here in the UK,  with rubbish people in charge...driving the train
