We'll see in @ three weeks

I got a free bet on that, a fiver and I bet in 10p's, and I've got England 4 - 0

Bit embarrassing that lot.

Haha...good luck Velvet

Kind of put me in mind of that moment when the Celts were hired by the sheriff of Nottingham to kick the sh*t out of Robin Hood

Changing the subject....

2,000 tickets allocated for Scottish football fans, to watch the Wembley match later today...reports state that 20,000 are heading for London <<<<<<<<<now that could cause panic

Last time England played Scotland at Wembley, all hell let loose & the stadium took a battering.

Judging by the pictures of all the fans crowding into London I’ve seen today…..no social distancing or masks ,  we will be lucky to be out of this by autumn , never mind July

Well lets just hope the locals are wise and stay at home...

I know I would in the knowledge of a Scot invasion

Add into the equation the massive surge in testing, infection figures were bound to increase...
One doctor reported that places like Bolton were seeing a plateau if not a slight decrease in numbers

Have to say that I’m not that bothered by infection rates, bound to happen as you say Slim, this virus will be with us forever   , like the flu, it’s only death rates and serious hospitalisations that really matter now and there will always be some again as with flu etc

Honestly I think it will happen, so many people have given up bothering at all

I suspect a lot of folk will think that, of those that chose not to be vaccinated ...do it at their own peril and why should everyone have to suffer staying in lockdown

It's the rush to get out of lockdown that is worrysome, not the idea of lockdown ending before too long. I just feel that the country is not quite ready for a full scale lifting of restrictions. There's so much of this 'I've had both jabs so I'll be fine' or 'the young don't get it. so they don't need to worry'....... and other such ill informed suppositions and beliefs. Yes, I can see it's going to become regarded as something similar to flu, but in my opinion it is always going to be a bit more dangerous than flu.

‘You’re booing yourselves!’ Jill Biden jeered by Tennessee crowd after telling them to get vaccinated
Only three in 10 Tennesseans are vaccinated,” the first lady said.

Tennessee is currently experiencing a vaccination uptake dip of 75 per cent from April, as weekly only 50,000 people are getting their first dose.

Tennessee governor Bill Lee has done little to increase vaccination numbers. He has gone on record stating vaccination is a personal choice, and not a public health measure, “We have seen as our primary objective to make the vaccine available to everyone in every corner of this state, and that’s the part that we believe is the state’s obligation,” he said according to The Tennessean.

Globally...we don't stand a chance

I agree Slim….today we heard that in Greater London most vulnerable ethnic groups haven’t been taking the vaccine…but nobody can force them to be vaccinated,so on their own heads be it….unfortunately,if they end up seriously ill then the NHS will have to shoulder responsibility for them

Flu can lead to pneumonia and can be deadly for some though. I’m not in favour of raising lockdown any further just yet….until all those offered their jab have had at least one…even then I think large crowds at events should be avoided. And as for foreign travel forget it

And even more importantly they will provide a reservoir for new variants to develop ….which will eventually impact on the rest of us too .

New health Secretary says he wants all restrictions lifted as soon as is safely possible - and he is somehow to be lauded for this? Isn't this what everyone has been basically saying all along?

Tbh….that doesn’t really bother me….there will always be variants as in flu which is a Corona virus too….there comes a point when we just have to live with it ….and let the scientists tweak vaccines as they do every year with flu…..this lockdown is more or less useless now with 50,000 at Wembley, as well as other gatherings

Thing is though, if people had just knuckled down and shown a bit more patience (and I realize that's easier for some) we would probably have reached the current feeling of 'almost there' a fair bit sooner!

Perhaps……but there will always be people who think rules don’t apply to them….and there lies the danger

See you in the autumn. See if herd immunity works.

Chris Whitty said we should open up as much as possible, because the winter months are going to prove hard otherwise
