Let's just hope the vaccine works it magic
Hospitalisations don't appear to have increased as yet...
@slimfern posted:Zero deaths reported in the last 24hrs.........Excellent news!
Yes Although it’s probably been skewed because a lag in reporting over the bank holiday weekend ….but it’s definitely a better sign
Plenty of time then for folk to get back to this country and drag all manor of mutations with them!

Exactly EFFT …..but cue people moaning about needing a holiday
I fully appreciate that there are other reasons for wanting to go abroad other than 'A Holiday'. However most of the moaning and groaning about the restrictions on and around travelling abroad are from holiday makers, the tour companies NOT getting holiday makers and other countries who are NOT getting the expected UK holiday makers. And this is it, they waffle on about what they EXPECTED and not what was HOPED for. We're still in the throws of a GLOBAL pandemic, no-one should be EXPECTING anything!
Throw in Michael O'Leary and Ryanair.
And Gigginstown and Gordon Elliott whilst you're at at. I dunno why he is given airtime
I don't see the reasoning behind the traffic light system, surly if it's not a safe place to come & go from then no-one should be...
I see it as a blame game by the government personally.

I think the government is too ready to bow to pressure from business …instead of following the scientific advice . IMO all non essential overseas travel should be banned for the foreseeable future ,..,instead of a mish mash of stop, go !
There's no scientific advice. Independent SAGE walks all over them. You'd get better advice on here - we're not payroll.

I saw that. << blood boiling!!!!! How about throwing them in a sink hole?
There's a lot of noise about how this is affecting peoples' mental health, so the next thing they'll come up with is a system to allow people to visit relatives abroad or allow relatives from other countries to visit here - to boost everyone's mental health. Now I have no reason to disagree with something like that, but you can bet your bottom dollar that if a scheme was devised it would get abused and the only solution would be to shelve the whole scheme!

Count on it EFFT
I am panicking, there will be another wave.
went with daughter and family for a weekend break (more sanitizer and cleaning products than clothes!) to a quieter local resort. there were very few people wearing masks and keeping a safe distance, some local attractions and shops cannot have heard of the virus as there were no protocols in place. Not only the younger generations but elder people too, I felt very vulnerable despite my vaccinations and have decided to hibernate until Christmas! xx

yes , the figures are really going up in my area Machel …..and like you , I’m not relying on my vaccinations either .
Euro fan Zones in Glasgow, up to 6,000 people a day. Third wave, here we come! Wasn't intending visiting Glasgow anytime soon, even though it has been dropped to level 2. Definitely am not now!

Yep , totally ridiculous EFFT
Apparently the Fan Zones have been deemed as 'Low Risk'. So I can fully understand why things like Soft Play centres are questioning why they still cannot open. They primarily are for very young children and only a very few adults can enter.

Exactly EFFT …..there seems no rhyme or reason at times ….it’s like when they decided pubs were among the first places to open

I think I’ll pass on that Slim
Over 7500 cases today , and 6 more deaths …. Apparently that’s the highest number of daily cases since the end of February . But on the plus side 8 out of 10 adults apparently now have antibodies ….and vaccinations for the under 30s is ramping up.

I also saw that of the few hospitalisations approx 80% were not vaccinated
It will be those that refuse to be jabbed that will keep this going indefinitely imo....

Before we all worry ourselves to death ,check the stats and look at how they are compiled. I checked my area today after they appeared to have risen by 57%.....a shocking number. However, cases tested positive had risen by only 4,from a very low base.....hardly worth bothering about in a population of 175,000.......and they seem to be teenagers and early twenties ,not vaccinated people

Sadly my area is definitely going mad Kaytee ….I think I am in the top 15 worst areas

Our figures here in the south west have gone up marginally, but still lower than the average....it's something like 19 in 100,000 ...and where my house & children are it's 6 in 100,000
Of course that could all change if we get inundated by holiday makers if we're not cautious

I am near the east coast and had my vaccinations at the doctors, had I gone to my nearest centre it might have been JVT giving the injection where he told people that it only hurt if you didn’t support Boston United 😱😂

I quite liked Boston ..the group...do you think that would have made it hurt less
My area is next to Glasgow, so we're a bit stuck at the moment. And with these EURO fan zones, who knows what'll happen......despite the fact that they are deemed 'LOW RISK'.
