Thank you so much . . . also Baz and Moonie

I'm terrified if i'm honest but gotta man up and take one for the team (he says)

Sainty, I have had my first jab. I have to say it quite painless. I know some people, like yourself, are afraid of needles and it’s not a case of ‘manning up’. Just think how much better it will be for you and the ones who depend on you.

I really do hope it goes well for you, my friend

At first I was afraid, I was petrified

Kept asking how I cope with a needle by my side

But then I took a great big breath

Knew that it was good for my health

And I survived  - I didn't cry - hey hey !!

Just your luck Gloria .I had the Pfizer one , and the only side effect I had was a very sore arm for a couple of days ....and I felt a bit tired ...but that might have been psychosomatic.

Boris says 1% pay rise for nurses is 'ALL WE CAN AFFORD', yet they've managed to afford gazillions on a new media centre in downing street so they can more easily spout their drivvel........and another gazillion on Boris' Downing Street flat. So ir it any onder there's talk of a nurses strike?

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Very pretty Saint

EFFT...our government are always misspending the public purse....without accountability most of the time

I think it would be a mistake for the nurses to strike right now....I fear Joe public would soon turn....I'm not agreeing with the pay rise, just feel this would be the wrong time to strike.

Ireland have put a temporary ban on the AstraZeneca vaccine after blood clotting incidents...

Saint had that one ....haven't seen him about for a few days ...hope he's okay

Saint is ok Slim....he just can’t get on the forum as much right now .

Baz

Blood clotting incidents were recorded in people who got covid, long before any Vaccine appeared, so why all the panic? Unless? the incidence of clotting has accelerated vastly in people that have had the vaccine. Then again it could be that any vaccinated people that develop clots would have developed them anyway if they had caught Covid.

I don’t see how the vaccine could cause clots tbh....unless and it’s a big if,if someone with an arterial blockage anyway had the vaccine and it thickened the blood temporarily....but too many people have had it for it to cause them...and my theory is OTT anyway

The suspension came after several reports of blood clots following vaccinations and the death of a 60-year-old woman who received a shot and then died after developing a blood clot, according to the Danish news agency Ritzau.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) in a statement released on Thursday described the Danish Health Authority's decision as a "precautionary measure" but stressed there was "currently no indication that vaccination has caused these conditions".

Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia and non-European Union (EU) countries Norway and Iceland have also banned the use of the vaccine as a precaution after similar reports of blood clots, which European drug regulators are still investigating.

On the news.....there have been slightly more clots recorded in the Pfizer vaccine than the Astra one....38 to 30....not surprising because they use similar methods in development....BUT.....Europe hasn’t panicked over that one, smells very much like sour grapes and politicking because they’ve made a right mess of their roll out

And overall rates are actually lower than you'd normally expect in the general population...
