We are so lucky ... those of us who are retired and reasonably comfortably off. We shouldn’t forget that there are many people forced to work, desperately needing the money, and they may be passing on the virus. Let’s call them nurses, carers, teachers etc...
i got shafted many times in my life by different governments ... huge mortgage interest rates, endowment mortgages, nursery fees, university fees, 50s women’s pension ... but, thank the lawd I have managed to retire and not have to deal with working through this.

We've approved the vaccine quick sharp, probably Serco looked at the data I'm waiting for the government to announce Yodel will be delivering the vaccine and if you're out, never fear! A card will be through your door saying your vaccine was delivered and is in your paper bin Watching CNN this morning, the world is looking at the UK to see how we cope delivering it...this should be fun
Stay safe people, there is light at the end of a very long tunnel

But watch out for the train it’s attached too 😉
Well I for one will be grabbing the vaccine as soon as ever they offer it to me ....I have been under virtual house arrest since the beginning of March , and I just want my life back !

I don't just want thing to 'go back to normal'. I want it to be new and rejuvenated!

Ok , scrub that I found it and I’m in group 4

I guess it’s each to their own Velvet , but given my age (and anxiety)it’s the vaccine or staying in the house forever
@velvet donkey posted:You're rational. See it trialled first. I don't believe in anything anymore I might be an anarchist
Well as I’m in group 4 there will be time to see what’s what I guess
I’d like the whole Conservative party in group one ...
From what Nicola Sturgeon said. the first ones to be vaccinated are those who will be vaccinating the rest of us - makes sense really!

We were in Tier one, but Citizen Khan, lumped all of greater London together, which bumped us into 2 just before lockdown ....so now we're back where we started plus shops.....I'm used to it now😟
@Rexi posted:I’d like the whole Conservative party in group one ...
I'll join the party in that case....😀

Ultimately it will depend on what counts as "underlying health conditions", but it looks like I'd be group 6 too.
The origins of many of the second wave of Covid infections in Scotland can be traced to countries outside the UK, a new expert report has said.
Prof Jason Leitch, Scotland's national clinical director, told the daily media briefing the March lockdown eliminated the majority of the first wave strains.
But he said the report demonstrated that whole new strains were introduced and the study identified travel to Europe as the trigger for the second wave.
The report, written for the UK government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), said many cases could be traced to summer holidays and other travel abroad in July and August.

Is this really a surprise to anyone?

No surprise at all , is it EFFT ....that plus the morons having covid parties etc
I have a confession to make .....went into Tesco cleaned my basket and sanitised.....toddled off to get a few things, got to the second aisle and then realised that my mask was still dangling around my neck.....I quickly adjusted the error feeling like a right Muppet and carried on. Nobody from the lady on the door, security man or customer pointed out that I hadn't adjusted my mask ....I wish they had because it was an oversight 😟😱🙄

These initial vaccines are overhyped imo. They don't offer immunity or stop spread. Outwith that, they are one big unknown.

Not when it takes 42 days to kick in. On paper, in theory, whatever "it" is.

Neither does the flu jab Velvet ....think it’s 40-60%....but we still take it❤️
We'll see where we are in June
I'll believe it when I see it.

How 42 days? I know you need a 2nd jab for the full effect, but we have to start somewhere. If the vaccinators get the 1st jab first, they will get the 2nd jab first too.
Day 1 - first jab
Day 22 to 29 - 2nd jab
Day 29 to 36 - Full effect supposed to kick in, according to the timetable I've seen.
Does anyone know what is happening?
which Tier? schools open/closed? Christmas cancelled?

So now they are recommending people should only meet for one day .....I hope the virus knows it’s not to attack until day two then 🙄
