Where is the common sense in going on holiday during a pandemic?

No sympathy for 2 weeks isolation on return from Spain

They were warned that air bridges could be closed at little notice.....that if they booked after lockdown then their insurance wouldn't cover Corona related illnesses , but the travel firms had cheap offers to suck them in and they fell for it. Moreover 12  people returning from Spain have tested positive very recently.....so no sympathy from me either🙄

I have the World Snooker championship from Sheffield on the television. There is an audience but obviously not the usual  amount of people. Some are socially distanced, some aren’t. Some have masks on, some don’t

I have just noticed the players are sitting right next each other, as they have always done

No social distancing there then?

It’s asking for trouble

Moonie

The answer is that Of Course You can go on holiday, but that if you go outwith this country you have to be prepared to face WHATEVER the situation in that country is AND whatever the situation in this country is on your return, The risk is totally yours and the consequences are up to YOU to decide if the uncertainty is worth the hassle!

People on the radio whinging about if they can go on holiday or now

Get a life and use your brain

Crazy Moonie .....what they can’t seem to understand is that if they don’t endure a bit of personal pain now , we will all be enduring far worse in the next few months !

When I think of the stoicism of people in the past, through wars and recessions and the like, I am just stunned that people can’t tow the line for a few short months to protect each other.

Glad you are ok Roxan ....and I agree with you

I don't think this really is a surprise either:- "The age distribution of infections has changed - it has moved down into younger age groups.

The overriding message that came across from the start gave the impression that the virus was less likely to be caught by younger people (even though that was not what was actually being said). So some sectors may not have been as diligent as they should have been.

I know that people of all ages have been good at observing all the rules of lockdown and also people of all ages have been bad at observing the rules. Not forgetting that some of the messages have not been as clear as they should have been causing a bit of confusion. So I am not intending to blame any one person or group, just making a personal observation.

I agree EFFT  And I’m really not sure about opening the schools either Truth is , unless they can eradicate every last vestige of the darned virus no one is safe . Roll on a vaccine I say ....or at least a viable , safe treatment

Baz

On the subject of opening schools, I see there is talk of maybe having to shut pubs again in order to make school opening safer, but we might have to see other compromises/ trade offs in order for the more important parts of society to operate safely.

i.e. are pubs or schools more important?

If it was JUST those two, then it's schools every time, but I'm sure things won't be that simple!

Yes , I saw that too EFFT ......my own feeling are that schools might open but will probably then have to close again .....or at the least there will be local closures .....and as far as I’m concerned pubs should have been the last places to open ....cos people seem to leave any common sense at the door!

I see the Germans are now protesting in Berlin  against things such as wearing masks ......I truly do not understand it ! These groups bang on about their civil rights , but what about my rights not to be infected

But apparently they are NOT contravening your rights, because 'the disease does not exist or has been overhyped' as far as a lot of them are concerned. So what are you worried about?!

Exactly ! Perhaps they should put them in a room with some of those who have lost loved ones and let them explain their bliddy conspiracy theories to them !

If you ever get the chance to see Chain Kill on Sky docs. take it.

How to hack US elections. Eye opener.

I’ve been listening to a series on the radio about the ways we are manipulated in many,  many spheres of life .
